...on't be able to calculate space in directories the current user can't access. if you are running X-Windows, there's a nifty utility KDirStat that scans the disk tallying space, then gives you an interactive graphical view of usage. I believe you can install it from epel as package k4dirstat -- john r pierce, recycling bits in santa cruz
