virt-install with --channel option inquiry
hi, virt guys, This is Hongqing from Fedroa QA team. I try to forward the guest installation logs to host with virtio. I have used virsh edit <guestName> to add a channel, it works fine. I think it would be better if I can initialize it when I create the guest using virt-install, and virt-install also offers the option, I have tried below, but it does not work. virt-install

ArchLinux port
I have febootstrap ported to and working on Arch, but there are a few packages missing from the main Arch repos, and the packages need to be in the main repos for the febootstrap sequence to work. So I have a few quick questions, first, how well does the supermin app work, without augeas, are zfs, gfs and hfs used only for mounting those filesystems inside the vm image, and I noticed that there is

virsh iface-list () - function is not supported
Hi, I am using KVM hypervisor on Ubuntu 12.04 (libvirt-0.9.8). The call to list the interfaces seem to be failing on this version of libvirt as seen below. virsh # iface-list error: Failed to list active interfaces error: this function is not supported by the connection driver: virConnectNumOfInterfaces I have seen this issue with libvirt 0.9.2 as well, which seemed to be working in 0.9.4

Starting a program inside VM through libvirt
Hi again. I was just wondering if there are any support for running programs inside a VM through libvirt. From what I can see in the API the only solution I found was connecting to the VM with openConsole and running the program I want. This however seems a bit tricky through Python and I was just wondering if there are any simpler solutions. Best regards. J?rgen -------------- next part

LXC libvirt support
Hi, Has anyone used libvirt to start/stop/manage LXC (linux containers) ? Is it supported at all? Last I tried, had few issues and the reply was : /// Note that libvirt lxc driver is a different implementation from lxc tools and doesn't use lxc tools internally. You may not be able to do what you are doing with lxc tools. Especially, the driver doesn't take aware of files and settings

netbios-ssn/tcp: unknown service
Sorry if this is such a basic question but I couldn't find anything about this in the FAQs/HowTos/Digest. I've compiled samba-1.9.18p3 on SunOS4.1.3_U1. When I tried to run smbd via inetd.conf (SIGHUP), I always get the following on the console. inetd[590]: netbios-ssn/tcp: unknown service I've edited the /etc/services to add: netbios-ssn 139/tcp And the /etc/inetd/conf with
