Re: VF MAC not reverted to all zero MAC/domain xml MAC on VM restart
...and to do that we need to enable VF trust on.(using the command “ip link set GE0-0 vf 0 trust on”)
So when VM reboots, as you mentioned guest VF driver is getting reloaded and we expect libvirt should revert VF’s MAC to the domain xml MAC and that’s not happening.
Thanks
Thiru.

...fairly certain you can get the behavior you desire
by powering down the guest, then restarting it. This will cause libvirt
to reinitialize the admin mac with the original value set in libvirt's
config.

...at you agree to do necessary changes in libvirt which will reinitialize the MAC address on VM reboot.
Yes, we are using RHEL. I would open a case asking for this behavior change.

I'm unfamiliar with OpenStack's "magic IP", so I'm not sure exactly what
to recommend.
(also, I'm not sure how your mail client managed to get the
"justsendmailnothingelse" email added to a Cc, but that address is not
intended for me to receive mail; it is used only to *send* mail (and
nothing else :-), that's why the From: is set to my canonical address)

still possible to use traditional bridge network setup ?
Hi,
i'm currently installing a SLES 12 64bit system. libvirt-client-1.2.5-13.3.x86_64 and libvirt-daemon-1.2.5-13.3.x86_64.
Formerly I created my vm's (KVM) using a traditional bridge in my host systems, mostly SLES 11 SP3.
But with SLES 12 I don't succeed. I can use the macvtap device in the host, but I like to be able to communicate between host and guest.
Is the traditional bridge

答复: 答复: libvirtd can't start
Hi Martin:
Actually, I have installed all the debuginfo for this coredump file. But the netcf debuginfo report "mismatch" as below:
warning: the debug information found in "/usr/lib/debug/usr/lib64/libnetcf.so.1.4.0.debug" does not match "/lib64/libnetcf.so.1" (CRC mismatch).
So I ignore this warning before. You can check what I did on the attachment

Re: Getting "unknown device type" when attaching NPIV (vHBA) to vm
Thank you for your reply,
I'm still getting hard time to attach the hostdev, I couldn't make it work out of the doc.
I took the address details from:
# ll /sys/bus/scsi/devices/7:*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Feb 8 12:58 /sys/bus/scsi/devices/7:0:0:0 -> ../../../devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.0/0000:08:00.1/host7/rport-7:0-0/target7:0:0/7:0:0:0
