Very Dumb Question : I have tried about four times now, using an old pentium2 with two hard drives (20 GB and 30 GB) to install both CentOS 4.4 and Fedora Core 6 in such a way as to enable dual-boot between them. I've tried it by installing 4.4 first, and then FC6. I've tried it by installing FC6 first, and then 4.4. I've tried it with and without giving the installer permission to

Adding Samba3/4 fileserver to samba4 domain
...PO and such. The DC (samba4) is up and running the way we would like it to but we're now stuck at phase 2: adding a fileserver to the mix. We've found bits and pieces on how to get this working like Franky (http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Franky) and information about Winbind (http://www.justlinux.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-118512.html). We have not been succesful in putting all the pieces together though. Could you give any pointers on how this is supposed to be stitched together? Can't use mount command with samba
I have a home network based on Win XP Pro, with one Linux machine running Red Hat 9. All updates have been applied. There's no domain controller. I can connect from the Linux machine to the XP machines via Konqueror using smb://mymachine/myshare However, I can't use the mount command. I'm trying to use syntax like mount -t smbfs -o username=myname, password=mypwd //192.168.0.1

Upgraded samba, mostly still works, but have one issue
Hello list, I recently upgraded an Ubuntu 8.04 LTS samba server to 10.04 LTS which took the installed version of samba from version 3.0.28a to version 3.4.7. The server is an AD member using idmap-rid. I have updated the idmap directives in the config and it mostly worked (winbind works, Windows users can get to their shares with their correct permissions, etc.). The only thing that got
