rsync + SSL
...ypt rsync traffic over the wire, and for various
reasons, I can't use ssh. I'd like to use SSL. Having spent the last day or
so trying to wrap my brain around what that's going to take, I'm wondering
if anyone has tried this before? Is it un-doable for one reason or another?
TIA,

rsync retry after connection failure
I was wondering if there's a way to get rsync reconnect every specified
secs/mins when a connection can't be established at the time rsync is
initiated. That would mean that no remote (WAN) backups will ever fail again
on me, because it just will retry untill the remote side will be available.
Thanks,
Joost

An idea: rsyncfs, an rsync-based real-time replicated filesystem
This is only my second email to the rsync mailing list. My first was sent

resulted from the ensuing discussion and code improvements were so
consequential that I dared not

We have a project that is hosted in one time zone (say, Pacific Daylight
Time) but the client wants all time recorded in their time zone (say,
Mountain Time). What is the best way to do this? Any recommendations?
Thanks!
Justin

- RealApps CMS - Simple Content management Plugin
We''ve just released our first in the RealApps series - a dead-simple CMS for
Rails. It''s implemented as a plugin you can download, which then generates
scaffolded code for administering your content. It''s designed to be a
starter system for small sites, and of course you can build on it as you
want. It''s also a good place to look if you want to see how

Useful article for anyone programming for paid client work
We''re working on a new series of applications called "RealApps" - simple
plugins and components add functionality to Rails applications. We just
posted an article describing the first one - a content management system.
We also go into the business case behind the design we chose. Good stuff for
programmers to know - especially if you are doing paid client work. It
