Anyone interested in scripts for multiple PXELinux configs in a single TFTP directory
...have a TFTP menu tree that is almost completely generated from the mirror itself, and enables us to boot into many of our distros. (Some don't work because they need extra boot parameters.) The scripts are a bit primitive, as I'm not a Perl or Bash wizard, but they do work. Best Regards, Jurjen -- Jurjen Bokma <j.bokma at cs.rug.nl>

Compiling Samba on AIX 5.3 with idmap_rid fails
...make: The error code from the last command is 8. When I use gcc, it also fails at the same point. I also tried "--with-shared-modules=idmap_rid". The compilation then succeeds, but winbindd then instantly crashes with a signal 11. What can I do to properly diagnose this problem? -- Jurjen Oskam

nut 2.0.4 won't compile on AIX 5.3
...other machine (Linux), I don't even need the serial things to work. So, I also tried to compile without any drivers ("--with-drivers="), but it still fails when compiling dummycons.c. If anybody could help me trying to get it to successfully compile, I'd be happy. :) Thanks, -- Jurjen Oskam Savage's Law of Expediency: You want it bad, you'll get it bad.

Samba 2.2.2, Outlook 2000 and Act!2000 problems
...grateful. [1] This meant that each workstation was removed from the NT-domain and later joined to the Samba-domain, and new users were created. This wasn't a large problem, because all files were already on the Samba server and so were readily available to the 'new' users. -- Jurjen Oskam * http://www.stupendous.org/ for PGP key * Q265230 10:21am up 8 days, 1:14, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

Now, I would like to run the FreeBSD boxes headless (sans keyboard, mouse, monitor etc.) How can I do this. I can manage & use the system through one of the other networked systems however on booting the sys. I'll need the keyboard and even monitor -

How to compile with AIX xlc?
During configure, it is running xlc -version for some reason, and xlc does not have a --version option, so it is showing usage information instead. How do you compile with xlc 6.0? David David Shapiro Unix Team Lead 919-765-2011

Again NFSv4 and Kerberos at the 'samba way'...
...better. ;-) > I've tried to start with this, that seems very simple: > > https://wiki.debian.org/NFS/Kerberos Yes, i started there also. But that one isnt working correctly with samba. Read it, and learn from it, then skip/dont use it. I've used also http://www.cs.rug.nl/~jurjen/ApprenticesNotes/ad_nfs4.html as base. This is an old one but has some good info on how things work. ( more to find on this site also ) Just read it and again dont use it. same here, some example are shown wrong. Then i used : https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NFSv4Howto#NFSv4_with_Kerberos...
