migration and conversion from courier
...alone the dovecot-uidlist)? There is a problem if this cannot be done, as those files have the following structure: 0 flag0 1 flag1 ... m binary garbage [optionally followed by more lines like the last] and if a new keyword is added, the file ends up like (this is copy and paste example): 0 JunkRecorded 1 $NotJunk 2 $Junk 3 Redirected 4 ^A<F0># 5 <B0><96># 6 $Forwarded It does not look like a nice thing to me. I doubt though that the script will cope with flags correctly, as in principle will get the flags from an out of date courierimapkeywords, thus missing any new ones. P...

new flags in Maildir files
Sorry if this is a dumb question: I migrated my third system from courier to dovecot. My previous two were MacOSX the third is FreeBSD 6. I noticed (because of an rsync process taking longer than usual...) that on FreeBSD the message files have, most of them at least, gained extra suffix letters (in the range a-h I'd say) that I do not see (mostly if not at all) on my MacOS systems. "Discarding bogus continuation" message in pine
...e following message (in pine): [Discarding bogus continuation in msg 1: $Forwarded NonJunk] Quitting and re-running pine does not bring up this message again, and it looks like it's getting confused by the internal mbox message's X-IMAP line: X-IMAP: 1076598957 0000257269 NotJunk JunkRecorded $NotJunk $Junk Junk \ Forwarded $Forwarded NonJunk The "$Forwarded NonJunk" part is the only part of that line that is on a new line, and it gets written out like that after I've read mail using an IMAP client, leading me to believe that pine doesn't know how to handle th...

One user having reproducible IMAP issues
Dovecot version upgraded to 1.0r26 (did not fix problem). The server is a CentOS 4 x86 box. Using ext3 filesystem. Previous attempts to fix the issue have included simply moving aside the user's INBOX to recreating a new account from scratch. Sometimes the email behaves for a while, but within a day is not working again. In Mail.app (the user's usual mail client) the INBOX folder

Indexing Mail faster
Hi, I am trying to get faster search results on our webmail client(Roundcube). Besides using Lucene for FTS are there other options? Would having all mails indexed give fast results? Currently the time it takes to search 25,000mails is 4mins. If indexed how much faster are we looking at? Really appreciate if someone could advise about this. Thanks Kevin
