[happy wine] ableton live 4.1 is working
Hi all,
I just want to give you feedback with my test on ableton live
application. A long ago time I was trying to run audio applications with
wine. Since I completely switched on linux (3 years now) I also
completely stop my music creation. Of course there are goods music
softwares on linux, but I was a junky with software like Emagic Logic
audio and Ableton Live. And now I'm a junky on

Software only Asterisk PBX (commercial)
Are there any switchvox/fonality type Asterisk based PBXs where I can
buy just the software? I don't want to buy their 'bundles' that come
with junky PC hardware. I just want their software/GUI to run on my
hardware.
Does Asterisk BE come with a GUI management console for managing
phones, queues, VM and the like?

Shared Line Appearances

is anybody able to post some info how to use and what features are
supported?
I have general knowledge how SLA should work, ie. monitor status of

barge into existing call on shared line and make conference call or
resume call, that was put on hold on

toll-free anonymous
Hi, I'm Andrew.
(Hi Andrew)
I'm a toll-free number junkie.
I've had an account with iax.cc/sixtel for about a week, and every few
days, I find myself sitting at the DID menu clicking the link that reads
"Click here to get a random toll free number".
I have three toll-free numbers now, and I don't know if it will stop...
Is there any hope for me?

Polycom VLANs
So has anyone had any experience working with the polycom 501 or 301 and
vlans?
We run dell managed switches here, so we don't have the luxury of running
CDP to force the VOIP vlan. I haven't been able to get the polycom phones to
talk on a manually set vlan. I have some junky sipura phones that work
fine-(get dhcp, register to asterisk etc) when i manually set them to vlan4.
Any advice

dell says bye bye to Linux
...ion, I am now no better than your average newbie
who can't figure out what an enter key is. <sly grin>
I also do not ever want to run a modern version of MR BILL's monopoly OS.
So. This is what I want. I want a flawless, newbie-proof distribution of
Linux. In it I want what all MS junkies require. I want WINE up and running
with MS OFFICE capability. I want, because I am a dinosaur, DOSemu
capability without having to compile this or that obscure nonsense. Just so
I can run my ancient apps.
What I don't want to hear is any techie superiority. The writing is on the

[LLVMdev] GSOC - HLVM Work
Hello,
I would also like to apply for Google's Summer of Code, but I am
having difficulty finding a concrete project idea to tackle. (Though
certainly interesting, a new front-end or a compiler optimization
pass seem like to large as projects for a single summer -- and
certainly something I couldn't accomplish given my lack of
familiarity with the code-base.)

Repeatable, But Time Varying R GUI Crash
Hello,
I'm having a problem in R. The R GUI is crashing with a message to
contact Microsoft for the solution. I've contacted Microsoft and they
are of no help. Below is a distilled set of code that will cause the
crash. As you will see, there are two do-loops within which is a "load"
command. The crash usually occurs after 200*400 (=80,000) to
2,000*400(=800,000)

[LLVMdev] GSOC - HLVM Work
Gabe,
I'm quite new to hacking on LLVM, but I'll give you an idea I had
reading some of the recent dev list posts. I think investigating
concurrency with regards to LLVM would be very useful (what with
multi-cores and all). This could be concurrency in regards to GC, or
it could be simply looking at how LLVM can best interface with
standard concurrency paradigms (OpenMP, MPI)

What project should I use ?
I am going to list my current plans for rebuilding a Law Firm?s network. I hope that someone will be able to tell me which project (samba or samba-tng) would be a better choice, or if staying with MS is the only choice. If my plan could be changed for the better, input would be greatly appreciated:
A lot of this information is useless for my questions, but I am throwing it in anyway.

Ruby server infrastructure evolution -> app. servers?
All,
Just musing about this whole FastCGI thing (that I hadn''t even thought
of since 1999 when looking at OpenMarket for a customer and even then it
was "old"), and wondering when we might see projects/products that
attempt to provide Ruby application services in a J2EE-like container.
I see the Cerise project - any interesting information on that?
I''m assuming

Samba4 DC/AD documents created in redirected folders with bogus UID
I just noticed that my fresh install of Samba 4.2.3 has the same behaviour.
I have a share (\\samba\it_share)) and some users when creating files have
the UID as 3000000 and some have their correct UIDs.
Share permissons are being controlled by Windows ACLs.

pxelinux/memdisk booting MSDOS floppy image requires local floppy disk
I found that if I do not have a local floppy installed and enabled on my client,
I will get the error 'Non-system disk' when I try to boot DOS floppy images.
NT or Syslinux floppy images boot fine.
If I enable the floppy in the BIOS, then it boots the DOS floppies just fine.
Is this normal? Is there a workaround?
There are MS-DOS images, so perhaps this is an MS-DOS limitation.
