ActionMailer getaddrinfo: Name or service not known..

simple questions
...oid accidental e-mail loss, therefore
on some maildir folder I have only read permissions.
Or shall I use ACLs only?
- Is there or Will there be a windows version?
(In case I had to use windows.)
