Can't join machine without full access
Sernet samba 4.2.2 in ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS, a fresh migration from samba 3
(I'm still in the testing phase).
I'm experimenting with task delegation.
Using the ADUC wizard, I select the "Join machine to domain" task to add
to my userid (I also tried a group I'm a member of with the same
result), at the domain level (rough translation, this is on a localized
windows 7).

TO fix it, try disconnecting the drives before mapping new ones. This may
or may not be the best way to fix it, but in my scripts, I use this:
NET USE M: /delete /yes >nul
NET USE M: \\server\share

...LOCAL_PC\Administrators group.
and now your set to go..
even if you give a user or group the rights to join a domain.
This user or group MUST have Administrator access on the pc.
and make user your loginname en pcnames are NOT the same.

first the GPO is created to set the LOCAL_COMPUTER User Rights Assignments. ( add workstations to domain )
i advice to use a group for this, and this can be a domain-group.
reboot the pc or refresh you policies. ( 2 times, to make sure....

samba as pdc in Ubuntu dapper, fails on ps$ join?

I've done everything as correct as I can see in smb.conf under fresh ubuntu 6.06 fully
updated install to have it run as a PDC on hostname florentine, domain DAVEYST.
There are no testparm errors.
I've added users with useradd and smbpasswd -a
I've added machines with useradd and smbpasswd -a -m
I can see the server in my network neighbourhood and access/browse folders on

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
