multivariate Poisson distribution
...ch of the archives and functions, I am looking for information on creating random correlated counts from a multivariate Poisson distribution.  I can not seem to find a function that does this. Perhaps, it has not yet  been created. Has anyone created an R package that does this.   thanks,   Jourdan Gold     [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Ordinal Mantel-Haenszel type inference
...As well as another pacakge that derives it for nominal variables but does not provide a variance or confidence limit. Does a package exist that does this? I have searched the list archives and can't seem to see such a package but I could be missing something. thank you. yours sincerely, Jourdan

users/passwds
Could somebody please explain just how one is supposed to set up samba users, groups and passwords so connections can be established to Win2k clients to connect to FBSD samba server for file sharing and to use cups for printing. I am afraid that the manuals and config files and various examples I have found on the Internet are quite confusing. How is the Windows username/passord related to

Hi, I have some doubt about how qualitative factors are coded in R. For instance, I consider a response y, a quantitative factor x and a qualitative factor m at 3 levels, generated as follow : y_c(6,4,2.3,5,3.5,4,1.,8.5,4.3,5.6,2.3,4.1,2.5,8.4,7.4) x_c(3,1,3,1,2,1,4,5,1,3,4,2,5,4,3) m_gl(3,5) lm(y~x+m) Coefficients: (Intercept) x m2 m3 3.96364 0.09818

Access denied
Hello, Samba 1.9.16p11 on Sun OS 5.6 For a NT4 Server SP4, I can not access to the samba server. When I look at the log.MachineName file, I see the error "password server not avalaible". I must say that it is working fine with an NT4 SP4 server on the same domain with the same user account. I have change the registry to authorize non-encrypted password. ...... Thanks. --

configuration & cups
I seem to be having a great deal of trouble with cups and samba configuration. cups seems to go on and off and it works and doesn't work. I think I need some help on my samba configuration. Generally, it has worked well on another machine, but my current setup seems a bit screwy. System: FreeBSD 4.6.2; cups-1.1.15.1; cups-base-1.1.15.1_4; cups-lpr-1.1.15.1_1;cups-pstoraster-7.05.5;
