I am new - how to set client
Thanks Josephus for your advice.
That is the reason why I have joined this group...to learn.
I have never done anything with streaming, but we must start somewhere.
I do work with the web as a programmer.
As I mentioned before, I do have winamp 5 and I have the server running
I still do not know how to tie up w...

Actually ... which Icecast do you mean, 1.x or 2? Icecast 1.x isn't
supported any more, but you might be able to Google for a 3rd party IPv6
patch. If you mean Icecast2, there is support but no "release" yet, you
would have to install a snapshot or get the source directly from CVS.
It's no big deal,

Ices 2.0 beta3
This is to announce the release of ices 2.0 beta 3. The source client
for streaming Ogg Vorbis to Icecast 2.
After far too much time having passed since beta 2, where many fixes and
updates have been applied, it's time to push for a full 2.0 release.
This beta is really to flush out any remaining issues, so no new
functionality is to be added until after the 2.0 release.

subscription services on icecast2
I just got a query from a user regarding icecast2 and thought I'd throw
it out to the mailing list. Is it possible to set up some sort of
subscription to an icecast2 audio feed?
A student at the University of Cincinnati wants to create a subscription
service to an indie radio station and have users sign up, and then get a
login to the stream. They would have an unique username and password.

virtual namespace question
Hi,
I'm wondering if it is possible to create a virtual namespace on a
prefix other than "virtual/". My goal is to mix IMAP folders with
virtual folders on the same folder level (prefix = "").
mail_location = maildir:/data/mail/%d/%u/
# Virtual
namespace private {
prefix =
separator = /
location = virtual:/data/mail/%d/%u/virtual
}
# Default

Virtual POP3 Inbox question
Hi,
I'm having trouble implementing the virtual pop3 inbox solution in
Dovecot 1.2.x. As the following wiki page describes
(http://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/Virtual) one should only set the
inbox=yes flag for the virtual namespace which then flattens all
mailboxes in the realmails/ prefix.
In the above example when I set the inbox=yes flag for the virtual
namespace, the inbox in the

suggestion: add mp3 support to ices2
It says here there hasn't been much interest in handling mp3 with ices2:
http://www.icecast.org/files/ices_docs/faq.html
I just wanted to mention that I'm interested in doing so. I use ices
for a web-based jukebox project called Tunez. I have tried the other
suggested icecast streamers and have had major problems with both of
them (muse and liveice). It would be really cool if the
