Hi dere, I switched over from Windows to Linux and I'm loving it. I do have a few problems with Gmod. 1. It won't work. I downloaded Wine after I downloaded Gmod, would that mess it up? Do I have to redownload it? 2. I also downloaded it from Steam, does that affect it? kthnx :D

So I used to use the winepulse patch for wine. (Yes I like pulse). But since 1.3.25+ uses mmdevapi for audio, that patch no longer works. That author points to a wine multimedia git, however, after installing that I have no more sound in any wine application, and the winecfg test audio says audio failed. I am trying to map a network (windows shared) DVD drive via WINE. Using Ubuntu Remix 9.04, I have mounted the drive and am able to access it via Ubuntu. However cannot map a drive letter via the Wincfg interface. I downloaded a game that I play on my Windows machine hoping to play it on my Linux machine and each time I try installing/opening I get an error that says Non 7z archive. I have tried a few different ways of opening this file to be immediately greeted with this error. Any ideas what is the cause of this? It is a larger .exe file at 2g in size. Thanks.

I had to install to a new HD because my update to 10.04 didn't go well. I have access to the file system of my previous install (dolphin) I have installed Wine. I run Wine for a password safe program that I have all of my Passwords in. Can I get the saved password files from my old HD?

I know the games are still registered to my account though because when i use my old windows computer they are still all there.
