Rails 2.0.2 + RJS
Hi I had ajax commenting on my app, which worked perfectly on Rails v1.2.6, but does not work the same in Rails 2.02. Basically the comment gets added, but the visual effects do not work (ie lines 2 + 3 of create.rjs) create.js page.insert_html :bottom, ''comments'', :partial => ''comment'' page.visual_effect :appear, "comment_#{@comment.id}"

ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension (win server 2003/2008 ruby 1.9.1/1.8.7)
I am trying to install mongrel_service gem on Windows (although this problem seems to hold for any non-compiled gem). I have tried this with Windows Server 2003 and 2008. Also with Ruby version 1.8.7 and 1.9.1 (Luis Lavena''s one click installer). Both with the same result. The error message (full text below) mentions that I have to install development tools first. I have installed MinGW

problem when : ruby script/server
Hi; Now I have tried the following, installed ruby 1.8.7 (2010-08-16) [i386-mingw32] rails 2.3.8 when I start the server --> ruby script/server, I get the following eeror: C:\Rails\demo>ruby script/server => Booting WEBrick => Rails 2.3.8 application starting on http://0.0.0.0:3000 => Call with -d to detach => Ctrl-C to shutdown server [2010-09-06 23:53:31] INFO WEBrick 1.3.1

SQLServer on Rails
Does any one know how to setup SQLserver with ruby1.9. It was working on an earlier version and now nothing works! I have installed the gems dbi ,dbd-odbc and activerecord-odbc-adapter and can connect in straight Ruby. However, using rails with database.yml nothing works! I hosed everything and reinstalled rails and now, I get Win32/Parite virus on ruby.exe. Any ideas? I''m losing
