Migration
...upgrade a Fedora Core 1 server to Centos 3.4? Would it be possible? I saw some messages in the list about it (archives) but I don't know if in the time the version of Centos was 3.4, and some people said that it whas not possible because would be a downgrade of some packages... RE Samba 3, recycle vfs and symbolic links
...for instance, and deletes a file, the .recycle directory is created in the prived share, but is empty (the file doesn?t goes to the .recycle folder). Any ideas of how I can solve this problem? I really would keep just one mapped driver per user, to make things easier for my users. MSN Messenger 4.7 vs 5.0
Hi. This is perhaps a little bit off-topic here, but I couldn't find informations elsewhere, so perhaps someone can help me: I've been using Messenger 4.7 for a while on my W2k Laptop to place SIP-Calls via asterisk with messengers "communications service" feature. Works fine. Then I thought that it would be a good idea to do an upgrade to v5.0... (yes, never touch a running

[LLVMdev] Question about the license of LLVM
...with LLVM (or using LLVM) which would bring back open-source projects held back by these kind of licenses. It would be helpful to have the LLVM license to begin with opening this so that there is made better use of it's resources. Thanks in advance! Strange behaviour on Win98
I am currently trying to integrate a Samba v2.2.5 server into an NT domain. I have already succeeded to join the server into the domain and have authentication working (security = DOMAIN), but when I'm trying to access it from a Win98 client, it sometimes says "network name not found", although the server is visible in the "network neighbourhood". Then, after waiting a

I'm willing to try other packages like ices but not before I'm sure that the source client is the problem.. best regards, Jochem Berends ----- Original Message ----- From: "harvey smith" <harvey@buskers.org> To: <icecast@xiph.org> Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2001 6:01 AM Subject: Re: [icecast] liveice mount points > It sounds like both liveice procs are trying to open the sound card? and > the sec...

liveice mount points
I have been sucessfully streaming with liveice/icecast. Now I want to add a second broadcast with differanct music. I thought I could just create a new dir, plop in a new liveice config file in the dir, with a diff mountpoint in the second config file and be on my way. But when i try this, the the second instance of liveice is kill instantly. Is this the correct way to stream two differant

improve ipfw rules
>> 3. I'm intrested in blocking kazaa/P2P trafic with IPFW any help in this issue you could possibly block connections at known p2p ports. deny tcp from any to any 6699 step but most of the newer protocols use dynamic ports and in turn, are configurable. so ipfw isn't exactly ideal on it's own for this. -r. -----Original Message----- From: Pons [mailto:pons@gmx.li] Sent:

asterisk and passwords
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi. Perhaps I just didn't found it, but there are two things I'm currently missing in asterisk: - - The user passwords for SIP are written *plain ascii* in the sip.conf... is there any possibility to store them encryptet? - - How can a user change his(her) SIP-Password? Is there any key in the voicemail/agent-system

calls per second with asterisk
Hi. Are there any values available about the capabilities of an asterisk system? I'm interested (if anyone has ever measured it) in how many calls a single asterisk server can handle from PSTN <-> PSTN, PSTN <-> SIP, SIP <-> SIP. Of course this is also hardware-dependant, but let's assume an average 2GHz single-processor machine with 512MB RAM, 100MBit NIC and a TE410P.
