Samba and Cups
Hi We're using samba as a PDC with LDAP-backend on a freebsd based system. Now I got two questions about Samba and Cups. 1. Group Print Operators There is a pre defined group called "Print Operators", GID 550. But if a user is part of this group, he isn't able to start/stop jobs or printers. Cann't get Windows XP system to find Samba printers
I have a Brothre HL-1440 laser on my Linux system I wish to share. But, I can not get the Windows system to "see" it. Hi all, I have a very good query related to printer sharing using samba. Following is the scenario... I had installed HP laserjet 9040Dn printer on redhat Enterprise linux 5. Shared it using samba. Used winbind protocol to integrate linux with windows AD 2003. Now i am able to see printer in Active directory as well as linux computer account in AD. But unable to set option lpadmin -p printer

Printing not working after upgrading to 3.0.4
I had been running Samba to share my HP printer among my Windows XP clients. When I upgraded to 3.0.4, I can no longer print. When I start the print job in Windows XP, the printer lights blinks for a few seconds, and then stops. No pages come out. The print job is shown as complete in the CUPS web intrface.
