running .jar files on Centos 7
...pair.net. they're written in Java and distributed as .jar files. I'm having trouble running them, due, I'm sure, largely to my ignorance. I have icedtea installed, but it just errors out when I try to use it to run any of the jar files: Fatal: Read Error: Could not read or parse the JNLP file. You can try to download this file manually and send it as a bug report to IcedTea-Web team. if I press the "Show Details" button from the box containing that message I get this: net.sourceforge.jnlp.LaunchException: Fatal: Read Error: Could not read or parse the JNLP file. You can...

JNLP app problems
Hey folks, I'm trying to use a 5.3 box to run some JNLP apps, but all I get is a view of XML. I try doing some googling and don't come up with much other than this one thread that says I may need both 32 and 64 bit Java to run JNLP. But it is not clear to me how to do that. thanks, -Alan -- ?Don't eat anything you've ever seen advertised...

Firefox 68 jnlp files
It seems that firefox 68.x, as distributed with CentOS6 updates, no longer allows opening jnlp files with javaws The "Choose Helper Application" window popping up after selecting "Open with/Other" has a predefined list of applications that cannot be customised. I'm sure it must be a configuration issue as this works fine with the same browser on other distributions,...

Can't get JRE 1.6U18 to run
...Sun Java JRE running but have a few issues: If I pick up the JRE installer .EXE file, it fails to install and this seems to be down to a heap space allocation error. I have found a few posts around the Internet about this but nothing gets me towards a fix. What I am actually trying to do is run a jnlp installer package and if I do this manually with "wine java package.jnlp" I get: fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly L"Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls" (6.0.0.0) I have used winetricks to install some MS components, including 'Common con...

Is this an elaborate hoax/troll?
I sure hope so: http://duckdown.blogspot.com/2006/03/additional-thoughts-on-why-ruby-isnt.html Seems like it''s getting genuine rebuttals, though. It''s actually kind of amusing.

I installed it by downloading the rpm and installing that. IBM said on my older FF the app/plugin is called JNLP and I should change the setting for that to 'always ask' and then when it asks use javaws - I did that but it still fails.

Acts_as_authenticated
Hello I have been trying a number of security/login generators recently. My favourite so far is the Acts_as_authenticated. I like the fact that it is only billed as a starting point and doesn''t try to do everything. I would like to add security roles to it, so that some of my controller actions can only be used by an admin role. Has anybody implemented this using

Developers can grab a copy of the script to duplicate a run on their broken compiler. Running the testsuite under JNLP increased the number of executed tests - don't know why just did. </soapbox> > - David > >> -- >> cheers, >> --renato >> >> http://systemcall.org/ >> _______________________________________________ >> LLVM Developers mailing list >>...

I don't have the time to muck with it, but looks like something that would be wor...

javaWS under firefox on CentOS 5.6 fails to launch sound
