ZFS Usage in Warehousing (lengthy intro)
Dear all,
we''re currently looking forward to restructure our hardware environment for
our datawarehousing product/suite/solution/whatever.
We''re currently running the database side on various SF V440''s attached via
dual FC to our SAN backend (EMC DMX3) with UFS. The storage system is
(obviously in a SAN) shared between many systems. Performance is mediocre

Enforcing sha2 algorithm in ssh-keygen.c
@Dmitry, you may get more traction by reporting this issue (with patch) at https://www.openssh.com/report.html .
It can also help other folks who may be encountering the same issue.

like to retain this functionality.
Can I re-install this tool or will it not work with the new CUPS?
Is there an alternative?
Do I have to re-configure all my printers by hand and discard my printers.xml files?
Any help will be appreciated.

How to determine which cipher was used to encrypt OpenSSH private keys
And given that this code is reading your private key files, I guess I should have added "if you trust its developer"
Otherwise, I'd stick with the shell script or python snippet.

The Redhat RPM packages now include Jim Knoble's X11 ssh-askpass

- Enabled utmpx support by default for Solaris
- Cleanup sshd.c PAM a little more
- Revised RPM package to include Jim Knoble's <jmknoble at pobox.com>

ANNOUNCE: x11-ssh-askpass 0.99 available
I've merged changes from the OpenBSD folks into x11-ssh-askpass
(including a fix for a potential memory leak). The only reason it's
not 1.0 yet is that it doesn't include a spec file for building RPMs.
It's available here:
http://www.pobox.com/~jmknoble/jmk/x11-ssh-askpass-0.99.tar.gz
[Damien, remind me again what you were wanting to do with this as far
as RPM packaging, bundling with openssh, etc. I seem to have lost
your recent messages about that. Private mail is fine.]

How to create a virtual machine? (Centos-5-beta-xen)
Hi,
I am trying to create a virtual machine with FC6 inside a Centos 5 (beta)
Xen host. I am following the documentation of Fedora[1].
I used the "virt-install" command, and every went fine until the moment to
create the partitions on the virtual disk (file "/var/xen/fc6.iso" with
10GB). No matter with option I choose: remove all partitions, remove linux

OpenSSH-1.2.3: return of ulimit problem

The last time this happened, i solved the problem by putting an
appropriate directive in /etc/security/limits.conf to allow core dumps:
# grep '^[^#].*core' /etc/security/limits.conf
@wheel hard core 1000000
# grep wheel /etc/group
wheel:x:10:root,jmknoble
This appears not to be working with openssh-1.2.3. Any ideas on what
change could have caused this to resurface?

Raw print queues in CentOS 4.4
Hi All,
I have a raw print queue configured in CentOS 4.4 for a printer
connected to a Windows PC. The printer doesn't have a Linux driver of
any sort, so this was the only way to print to it.
The printer is an Okidata dot matrix printer. Users can print to it
from a console application, but if they try printing to it from OOo
Writer, the printer spits out reams of pages with what looks
