large files
I'm reposting this problem (perhaps a bug) now I've got more information on
it. This is another point of view of the situation and I hope someone could
have run into the same trouble before (and solved it :-))
This is it:
* with ntbackup 2000 I create a 22Gb .bkf file in the windows machine.
* I can copy that file over a samba share and get correct info form the
file in windows

Initial connection after reboot is sluggish
We have an SCO server running samba with the config file below. It is in
the domain and users connect to shares on it without any issues. The SCO
server is rebooted nightly. The problem is that we have a box that has a
mapped drive connection which automatically deposits attachment files to
the rmomin share from Outlook (using CaSaveAtt) and it fails on placing its
first attachment to the

Swat Setup Information
I am inquiring about setup of the SWAT utility I have installed Red
Hat 7.0 with samba installed during the initial setup of Redhat. I have
two network cards installed in my Server and I am connected to the
internet via a Cable Modem. When I try to start SWAT netscape displays
the message that it cannot find the local host on port 90. I have
downloaded the book over samba and I have also tried to

Samba Print Server
Hiya,
Can someone explain why I am seeing chmod of W32X86/3/PSCRIPT5.DLL failed (Operation not permitted) in the log files.
It is a samba 3.0.1pre3 print server, which has the drivers on it for loading to the clients.
Here is the log file of errors.
Thanx in advanced
Kris

Mounting other domains
My Linux machine is set to be in domain A. I would like to mount a file
system on another domain B (trust relationship exists). How do I refer
to the machine in the other domain or just setting the host address is
adequate?
TIA

...mpany I am with is a bit sticky about allowing a linux machine to join
the network.
If it is possible, is there some kind of how to to do it and what I need
to configure to make it work? Does it require winbindd to run? I am
currently running under Mandrake 8.2 with samba 2.2.3.

SWAT
I was playing with this on my test machine, (redhat 5.2, samba 2.0.3)
worked great, and I was really impressed.
So I decided to install this on my office machine. (redhat 4.2, samba
2.0.3) and the only significant difference is that on the
office machine, I use encrypted passwords.
I cannot get swat to authenticate on the second machine. That is, no
matter what account, password combination

Can't print duplex
I am trying to switch over to the new "style" of printing, but when I
do, I loose the ability to print duplex.
I have two servers. The old one (spike) is setup as a file server, etc.
and the print services date back to the early 2.0 days. It is currently
running 2.2.2 with the original printer setup. The printing
works ok with this server. People can print using features of the

Printing from Linux to Windows 2000
I've seen a lot on printing from Win boxes to printers on Linux boxes. I've
found very little on printing from Linux to Windows printers. The HOWTO has
some information and I've found several other sources, but I still can't get
my Linux box to print to a Windows 2000 printer.
I'm using Mandrake Linux 8.2, Samba 2.2.3a, CUPS (I'm not sure of the version,

winbind
Hello!
I set debug level 10 to samba 2.2.0 and now see in log:
