Wine 20050111 jeopardizes X on start
Hi, after upgrading to 20050111 I get this behaviour:
X goes blank, monitor goes standby. After switching to console and back to X
everything is fine and the wine app is running normally.
I tried downgrading to the previous version (August 2004 or so) to find this
behaviour stays. So I guess starting the 2005 built garbled some config entry
which stayed in ~/.wine/config
Any idea what to

Samba - Swat
My husband has installed Samba - swat and wants to link all the computers in the house, so "he can back them up daily."?
I read the About info on your website, but still have a few questions:
1. I work online, can Samba capture any information (passwords, screen shots, personal information, administrative log on) that might jeopardize my job's security?
2. Can personal emails be

Deleted objects keep coming back
Having a very strange and frustrating problem with v2.0.1 under Mac OSX
10.3. I have several closely related workspaces in the same directory that I
need to keep separate from one another (there are a few objects common to
all workspaces, and then there are other objects that store the results of
different analyses on the common objects, which is why I need separate
workspaces).
When I

Intrusion Suspected, Advice Sought
I run OS X 10.3.7 on a PowerMac MDD G4 on a cable broadband connection.
I have reason to think my system has been tampered with. Security
features in Mac OS X have been left unlocked (Preference Pane - Users)
even though a master lock has always been set in the Security
Preference Pane. This locks all other important preference panes which
could be tampered with. Also permissions have been

db connection issues in production but not in dev mode
We have an application Ruby on rails, which fires a number of queries to
the database. I Suspect it is connection timeout error or something
When we run the application in development mode, it works as expected.
However when we switch to Production mode, we get the following error in
Postgre console:

Authenticating users from proprietary user databases
Hi,
I work for a company which develops a rather complicated Linux-based
grid-technology appliance. The appliance is made of several Linux hosts,
exposing its functionality over a proprietary CLI-like protocol. This
protocol currently works by running a proprietary client executable on a
host, sending the command via TCP/IP to one of the appliance's hosts and
receiving the response. The

kernel recompile help
Everytime I try to recompile a kernel, "make modules" always dies with
the error:
mv: cannot stat `include/asm-i386/asm_offsets.h.tmp': No such file or
directory
make: *** [include/asm-i386/asm_offsets.h] Error 1
I installed the src RPM and kernel-devel ... any ideas as to what I
could be doing wrong?
Thanks!!
