MSI Package Provider and Install_options
Hello, I''m trying to install a few MSI packages on Windows, and I''m having trouble specifying options. Here is what I want to execute C:\packages\my_problematic_package.msi \quiet \passive As you can see, I''m trying to specify two arguments to the package, but I can''t figure out how to use the Puppet package resource to accomplish this. How to limit memory reported to a program?
I'd like to run write.exe (an - I think - old Windows 3.1 application). The problem is: It doesn't run but brings up a message that there isn't enough working memory (out of memory error). Actually, there is too much of it. With Windows itself, I can fix it by adjusting the FileCache entry in the system.ini (see http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;253912). Unfortunately, this

riched32.dll refresh(?) problem
An application using a riched32 input text box runs almost fine. The box has two indicators, one is "total lines" and the other is the cursor position "line/column". When entering text, everything seems fine and the "total lines" counter changes whenever I press ENTER, but the "line/column" cursor position remains staying at "1/1". When I copy

[PATCH 00/20] Switch to ELF modules
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com> This series fixes some bugs and switches the elflink branch to be entirely ELF modules. It applies on top of, http://syslinux.zytor.com/archives/2011-April/016369.html The deletions in the diff stat below are mainly from deleting com32/elflink/modules (finally!). Now there should be no duplicate code because we don't need COM32 and

Opening R in 64-bit version by default
Hi Everyone, This may be a dumb question, but I can't seem to figure it out. I have 32 and 64 bit versions of R installed on my machine, and I'd really like the 64-bit version to be the default (i.e. what opens when I open up a workspace). I've tried right-clicking on the workspace and setting the default option as the 64 bit version, but it still opens the workspace in 32-bit. Am

weird mouse problems
Hi, I'm using the latest stable wine, - currently - twm and have strange problems with the mouse keys. If I select a drop-down list, the list appears and as soon as I move the mouse to select an item, the list disappears. In programs that normally present a context menu with a right mouse button click I get absolutely nothing. I can't say whether the context menu doesn't appear at

Image transpareny issues
Recently I upgraded from 1.2 to 1.3.29 and I'm now experiencing problems with images on windows that should be (and were) transparent - like little images on tabs for example. The transparent part of the background of these images is now black. Other images on windows have magenta background. Is there a known issue with the transparency color?

rpart vs. tree and deviance calculations
Hi Everyone, I'm working on building some classification trees, and up to this point I've been using rpart. However, I recently discovered the tree package, and found that it had some useful functions (in particular deviance(), which I would really like to use for my project). I can't seem to find an equivalent function for rpart. I've considered using tree() in place of

Stratified Sampling with randomForest Regression
Hi All, I'm using R's randomForest package (and it's quite awesome!) but I'd really like to do some stratified sampling with a regression problem. However, it appears that the package was designed to only accommodate stratified sampling for classification purposes (see https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2006-November/117477.html). As Andy suggests in the link just
