OpenSSH client for non-jailbroken iPhone
...hone App store for free. Since it's open source, I don't think I would charge anything for it. (On second thought, I would accept donations solely to pay for my apple developer license). I was just considering doing this since there currently is not a free version of a SSH client for non-jailbroken phones. Any thoughts? Thanks, John

WiFi SIP phone w/VPN?
...My subject line says it all: is there a WiFi SIP phone with VPN abilities? Failing that, a WiFi phone that runs Linux? I already know one phone that does meet my requirements -- the iPhone. The new software comes with a Cisco VPN client, and a SIP client can be had from third-party vendors for jailbroken phones. And, while I'm not averse to the idea, a) it ain't cheap, and b) it's a bit hack. I've googled my heart out, but haven't found anything else that (I'm sure) meets all three requirements. Thanks! -Ken -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous c...

They would still be germane, as may now be expressed in the current SDK, including the use of the new Swift language, if the OP's intent was to pursue thi...

iPhone SIP or IAX client (without proxy)?
I checked the app store and haven't found anything promising, but I figured I'd ask here. Does anyone know of a SIP or IAX client for a non-jailbroken iPhone that will communicate directly with a machine running Asterisk? I know that there's at least one offering that seems like it's essentially a proxy (App runs on iPhone, iPhone talks to 3rd party server, 3rd party server talks to SIP service), but that's not an option we consider...

Cydia packages for tinc
Hello, Mike Bentzen has created Cydia packages for tinc. This allows you to easily install tinc on your jailbroken iOS devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch). Packages for both version 1.0.21 and 1.1pre7 are available. His repository is here: http://mike.bentzen.com.au/tinc/ But you can also download them from the tinc website: http://www.tinc-vpn.org/download/ Installation should be straightforward. However...

[LLVMdev] LLC ARM Backend maintainer
...nd bugpoint code for working this way is still present. The problem with this setup is that it assumes that the target will be running the tests at the same paths as they were built on the host. That cannot be achieved outside of Apple because all the NFS components are not present in the released/jailbroken iOS. It should be straight-forward to build these pieces from the source, but I stopped investigating this at this point. If somebody else gets this working outside of Apple, please post more instructions to the list. I know I felt more comfortable at least being able to hand run a few specific te...

Git branch with compiling fixes for win32
...e (as used in vlc and libavcodec). This will leave Apple with even less reasons to support FLAC in their own products. Anyone with an iPad/iPhone/iPod must install Rockbox to play FLAC files, and the Apple TV can only play FLAC (and anything that was not bought from iTunes) using XBMC, after being jailbroken. But for the Average End User, they don't want to have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get FLAC support. Apple Lossless will Just Work on all Apple devices (as it always did), but now it's more freely available so the freedom-loving hippies can stop complaining about the source code....
