no network to DomU in Ubuntu Hardy
Hi, I just installed Xen in Ubuntu Hardy. DomU is not accessible either from Dom0 or external network. I used default set up network-bridge/vif-bridge from xend-conf.sxp. Bridge has got default name eth1 which is my default ethernet interface. Before creating DomU: root@jaguar-0:/home/longina# xm list Name ID Mem VCPUs State Time(s) Domain-0 0 1887 2 r-----24.6 root@jaguar-0:/home/longina# brctl show bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces eth1...

Jaguar Samba Servers etc.
...server to link up Windows whatever(say ME) and Mac OS X. Is this the best(highest speed and cheapest we are talking small non-profit.org here) way to do it? That is have a Linux machine doing everything a server does-this way dont have to waste G4 on server duties. second question: G4 with OS X(Jaguar $100 system not the $450 server version) is fully Samba but not usable as server, is that correct? Truly in appreciation. Stewart Connor Virginia CURE <A HREF="www.vacure.or4g">www.vacure.org</A> Virginia probably has the most crimes being committed against prisoners, per...

Samba 3 and Mac OS X Jaguar to authenticate AD2003 users
...d jusk like to allow authentication on both platforms with a single username, stored in AD. I read somewhere that OS X Server 10.3 has Samba 3 as a default package installed, but I can't unfortunately upgrade the OS, so I need some support about how to setup a Samba upgrade in a Mc OS X Server (Jaguar). I mean: I simply need to compile sources without uninstalling the previous version or I need to do something else? Can anybody be so kind to tell me the full procedure to solve my problem? Thanks a lot to everyone Bye

RoR on Jaguar anyone?
I installed RoR on my Mac with Tiger10.4. Everything seems to work fine. I installed it on my other mac using 10.3 and at first it worked fine, but when I started using apps with a database, sometimes the server crashes on certain pages. I''ve been trying to locate the source of the problem, but the crashes seem pretty random. I''m wondering if this has anything to do with the

R 1.5.0 on Jaguar?
It seems that someone was having trouble compiling R under Mac OS X 10.2, but I'm wondering if anyone is running the version available from http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/math_science/rformacintosh.html under OS X 10.2. This is important because I'm about to take delivery of a new Power Mac running 10.2! John Shonder Oak Ridge National Laboratory

How to compile SSH on Jaguar (Mac OS X), technical question
Thanks to all the help I got in writing my HOW TO, im am getting closer to isuue it. I have just seen a file called: /System/Library/Filesystems/AppleShare/sshHelper I wonder what will break, if I disable Apples own OpenSSH implementation. Would FileSharing not work anymore? Any workarounds known? Thanks for help, Robert Welz

@ERROR: setgroups failed
Hello. We have a few OS X machines running Jaguar 10.2 that's set to rsync over important files for backup purposes. The rsync was happening without any problems until the last Jaguar security update was installed a few weeks ago or so. Now they are giving the below errors and the rsync does not happen: @ERROR: setgroups failed rsync: con...

Math Symbols in plots under Darwin/Panther
I've just committed a new version of the quartz device to R-devel. This seems to fix the problem with displaying math symbols in plots under Panther. I can't not more test R under Jaguar (at least not these days). In case you have the opportunity to do that, please send me a report if it brokes everything under Jaguar (or eventually say "it's ok") A couple of test as example(plotmath) and demo(plotmath) should suffice to see if things go smoothly. stefano

RAqua package installation on Panther
...ility version of user: 5.0.0 greater than library's version: 4.0.0) i.e. you get an incompatibility error for the libiconv library, this is probably due to the fact that you have the "libiconv" dll in the "/usr/local/lib" path. It seems that this library is installed on Jaguar (MacOSX 10.2.x) with the distribution of teTex that comes from the "i-installer 2". If you install the same te TeX distribution on Panther and you didn't have a previous installed one on Jaguar, then this library is not installed in "/usr/local/bin". So this is not a i-i...

[llvm-mca] What's the difference between Rthroughput and "total cycles" in llvm-mca
What is the difference between the two? I thought "Rthroughput" is basically the number of cycles required to execute a single iteration at steady state, but this does not seem to match with the schedule/timeline generated by llvm-mca. Thanks in advance, Tom -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

RAqua with X11 TclTk
...uartz() demo(tkdensity) It works on my Panther machine as well and it comes with three installers for: libreadline, tcltk (the X11 version) and the libxml2 in case you want to use the prebuilt XML package. Thomas Lumley has found oddities in configuring/building R on Panther so I built it on Jaguar and it works as well on panther. I would like to propose this version of RAqua for R-1.8.1, i.e. built only against X11/tcltk. This will allow one binary only for R that can run tcltk from Emacs or phyton for example. Could you please test it on Jaguar and Panther before the end of the next...
