Speex in J2ME
Does anyone know of a project to port speex to J2ME?
I have done it (a bit of a hack though) and would be interested to know of
anyone else that is working on it.

I develop j2me applications for mobile phones and for fun I tried to port
Cortados java player to j2me. Took the source code changed a couple of lines
to make it a MIDLET and sudenly, without even thinking it would work, I ended
with a pure j2me theora player for my mobile phone.

J-Ogg is available
...like to inform you about the Java library J-Ogg, available from
http://www.j-ogg.de
Features:
- Open source & free.
- Decoding of Ogg-encapsulated Vorbis and FLAC streams.
- Support for local files, single files over HTTP, icecast streams over
HTTP.
- Plugins for JMF (Java Media Framework).
- J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) support, making the library usable on small,
portable devices (if the JVM and the CPU is fast enough).
- May be used from a Java applet embedded on a web page, e.g. for internet
radio or "music-on-demand".
- An applet built with Vorbis and icecast support only is le...

Finding the size of a vorbis stream
Hello,
I am trying to make an OGG Vorbis player for my cell phone. I have
ported J-Ogg to J2ME, and it is decoding files in non-realtime. The
problem is that I need to convert the OGG into a WAVE stream, which
needs the size of the data in the header which has to be read before the
OGG is fully decoded. So my question is, is there any way to find the
size of the resulting PCM data before dec...

Rails 3 and octet-stream content-type
Hi,
i am migration an rails 2.3 application to rails 3, and i''m having some
problems with post requests with ''octet-stream'' content-type.
The problem is that rails is not passing the octet-stream params to the
controllers. We have some mobile apps (J2ME) sending us post requests with
octet-stream content-type. It used to work until i try to migrate our
back-end to rails 3. Now rails just ignores the parameters and sends nothing
at all to the controllers.
Anyone have some idea why that''s happening?
Thank you

Java/MIDP Vorbis player ?
Hi!
Is there any Java Vorbis player that works on
MIDP 2.0 platforms (mobile phones) ?
I know the pure Java players, but I'm looking for a mobile version.

Theora & Vorbis on your mobile phone
Hey guys + gals,
Would you know where to point me to for an open source or commercial implementation of Theora & Vorbis for your mobile phone?
Maybe as a Symbian app? Maybe a Java midlet?
I'd like to be able to download & play video files to the mobile as well as maybe stream them too? Am I asking too much? :-)
Thanks in advance for your help!
Callum.

GPS-enabled cell phone/PDA
I would like to capture the lat/lon coordinates from a GPS-enabled cell
phone or PDA. Is this possible? Must I subscribe to this information
from the cellphone network provider, or can I capture it without charge?
What devices will broadcast the coordinates? Is there a device that
will broadcast its position inband that can be captured by Asterisk?
Can an SMS message include coordinates?

Softphone to be installed on the Mobile
Hi All;
Is there a softphone that can be installed on a mobile
(new mobile models), so it can work with Asterisk as
following:
1) As SIP or H323 client, with the ability to add
button functionalities (call pickup, call transfer,
...) so if there is a wireless network, then it can
use it to connect to Asterisk and work as client, but
from the Mobile.
2) If there is no wireless network, then it

New to RonR...
Hello,
I''ll try to keep this short BUT, I''ve got little/no experience with
programming. In fact, my only background is using Cold Fusion (since
1996 and VERY little of that for the past 5 years as I''ve been playing
as a Manager-type at my jobs so I haven''t had to do any hands-on stuff
for a while).
My question: Would Ruby on Rails be a good platform to get
