vanilla rsync 3.0.9 hangs after transferring ~2000 files
....png (I couldn't make copy-paste work from that terminal). Do you have any ideas what the problem might be? Or how I can help debug it? Right now we have a customer we simply cannot do a backup for, which is pretty bad :-) Thanks in advance for any input. -- De bedste hilsner, Christian Iversen Systemadministrator, Meebox.net ------- Denne e-mail kan indeholde fortrolige oplysninger. About multiple hosts with same hostname
...P address with a heartbeat-monitored NFS daemon (let's call that nfs0). Now, obviously the host key changes whenever there's been a failover, and so again we get this same kind of problem. What to do in this case? Any ideas? Thank you all for your time. -- Med venlig hilsen Christian Iversen

create very large file system
Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9 SP3 I've tried to create a large 5TB file system using both reiserfs and ext3 and both have failed. I end up with only a 1.5TB file system. Does anyone know why this doesn't work, what to do to fix it? Others have suggested that only XFS or JFS will work. Is this so? Thanks, -Mark

is.matrix
a=c(1,1,2); is.matrix(a) gives FALSE is.matrix(t(a)) gives TRUE is.matrix(t(t(a))) gives TRUE Is this correct? Shouldn't all give FALSE? I think is.matrix should give FALSE when dimension is 1*n or n*1.

Authenticating users from proprietary user databases
Hi, I work for a company which develops a rather complicated Linux-based grid-technology appliance. The appliance is made of several Linux hosts, exposing its functionality over a proprietary CLI-like protocol. This protocol currently works by running a proprietary client executable on a host, sending the command via TCP/IP to one of the appliance's hosts and receiving the response. The
