Anyone using PHP52 packages from iuscommunity.org?
Hi, I need to use PHP 5.2 in my Centos 5.X servers. I've been using the one found in Testing for more than a year without problems but I feel that it is not being updated in a while, specially with the security issues. I found a post about this iuscommunity.org which maintains 5.2 and 5.3 rpm packages for Centos/RedHat but I'd like to know if anyone in this is using the 5.2 packages in a production environment. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Pre-packaged Python 2.7 for 32-bit CentOS 6?
Either this doesn?t exist or my Google-foo is failing me this morning. I keep coming across the Software Collections Repository (http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories/SCL), but that is for 64-bit only. Before I attempt to create Python-2.7 RPMs for 32-bit CentOS 6 to install into /usr/local or /opt/python-2.7, I wonder if someone else has done this so I don?t have to re-invent

Compiling PHP and MySQL
Hi everyone, I need to install an older version of PHP - 5.2.16, which is not currently available through an official CentOS repo (as far as I can tell). In order to fulfill our developer's requirements, I've decided to just compile PHP and MySql from the source. Is there a way to find out what are the usual configure options that are used to compile binaries that are available through

Upgrading PHP and PHP53 on CentOS5 - Progress/Problem w/ Squirrelmail
...etings In the attempt to upgrade the technology stack on CentOS 5 from stock PHP to PHP53 I have made some progress. Much thanks to all respondents, especially Jesus. One repository that provides a complete set of builds and seems to fulfill both PHP and PHP53 requirements is the IUS one: http://iuscommunity.org/ Repos here: http://dl.iuscommunity.org/pub/ius/stable/Redhat/5/i386/repoview/ One reference to several discussions covering this topic are available here: https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=30881 Using the IUS PHP53 rpms allows for the rpm re-installation of dru...

possible additional comment regarding newer PHP
again, from here: http://wiki.centos.org/FAQ/CentOS5 regarding a newer version of PHP, a number of PHP experts that i know of suggest that, if you truly need an up-to-date version of PHP, you should: rpm -ivh http://rpms/famillecollet.com/enterprise/remi-release-5.rpm while remi collet's repo isn't official, it's accepted by numerous developers as a reliable source of newer PHP

MySQL repositores
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Are there any repositories for CentOS 5.5 that keep the latest MySQL versions? After enabling everything I can think off (CentOS, rpmforge, epel), I'm still only seeing 5.0.77-4.el5_5.4. 5.5 came out yesterday and 5.1 has been around for a while. I don't want to manually install from the mysql site for obvious reasons. Russ -----BEGIN PGP

PHP version not enough for developers
Hi, So, it seems that the current version of PHP in Centos 7 is PHP 5.4.16 however this version of PHP stopped getting security support from the PHP people one month ago [1]. Now, our developers want to use the new and shiny PHP because they want to use the latest version of Zend. They are proposing using this package [2] but I never heard of this repo. Other than building the packages

mysql client ssl connection failure
...that there have been recent openssl updates, I figured the problem was there, however the lack of any decent debug output from mysql/openssl made it hard to figure out. After going down a few false starts, including looking at the SSL certificate and root CA, I found this: <https://github.com/iuscommunity-pkg/mysql55/issues/4> It turns out that the default cipher for the mysql client is hardcoded, and the one specified is no longer supported in the server. The solution is to add to /etc/my.cnf (or ~/.my.cnf) the following (or the equivalent for your preferred cipher) to the client section(s)...
