restart after yum update (6.6)?
Hi,
according to this :
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/28144/after-yum-update-is-it-a-good-idea-to-restart-the-server
i should reboot my server after updating packages i.e: kernel, glibc, libc.
Maybe it's a silly question, but Is it necessary if I don't use graphical environment ? (and don't want to use the latest kernel yet)

Problem redirecting user running a Dynamic feature
Hello,
Here is my setup :
Telephone 1 ( GXP 2000 )
Telephone 2 ( SPA942 )
Asterisk 1.4.17 ( same behaviour on Asterisk 1.4.23.1 )
Scenario: I don't like the default asterisk transfer feature, so I am
trying to write my own.
What I did :
1. Added to dynamic features #3 with AGI pointing to my php script
2. PHP script asks the user to enter his/her extension
3. PHP connects to Asterisk

haml to erb - does it work with new html5 tags?
Hi,
I wanted to covert all my erb over to haml, but I use HTML5 tags like
nav, section, article, etc. Any idea if this is supported by haml?
Checked out their site, nothing mentioned there or did I miss
something. Sorry noob here.

Hi,
from man yum.conf:
ip_resolve Determines how yum resolves host names.
`4' or `IPv4': resolve to IPv4 addresses only.
`6' or `IPv6': resolve to IPv6 addresses only.

Hi,
you don't *have* to reboot the server. If you don't there are two
factors you need to consider:
1. The updated component are not all active without a reboot
The kernel for example will obviously not not be running without a
reboot and the same may be true for other components. For most
applications you should be ok if you just restart the application so it
can load in the new

2 firewalls, different INVITES
I have a SIP trunk to Broadvoice. My Asterisk box (1.4.13) is on public
addresses behind a firewall.
Originally it was behind a Linksys WRT54G running sveasoft. Sveasoft
really can't NOT do NAT even when you turn it off. My Asterisk box is
defined as the DMZ box to Sveasoft and it seemed like it was leaving all
packets alone. Now I switch to a Centos-based firewall configured with

[LLVMdev] unable to interface with target machine
Hi there.
Sorry in advance if this is a silly question.
I've got a test program in my v3c-storyboard project
http://sourceforge.net/projects/v3c-storyboard/
that generates LLVM assembly for a hello world program.
If I try
clang -o hello-world hello-world.ll
I get "error: unable to interface with target machine".
But if I
llvm-as -o hello-world.bc hello-world.ll

Are user-made modules supposed to work?
Is there a reason why modularizing your controllers doesn''t work? I
tried the following:
ruby script/generate scaffold Admin::Bug
But it just won''t work. I get a routing error when trying to access
/admin/bugs/ :
Recognition failed for "/admin/bugs/"
P.S. If I create the model/controller individually it still doesn''t seem
to work.
A bit of help

I''ve been looking in on WxRuby occasionally to see if it''s ready foruse, because I like some of the precepts, esp. native widgets. Finally I decided to ask.
How close is it to being easily installable on the three majorplatforms? deb or rpm on linux, binary installers on windows and osx.It has to be that easy for people to want to distribute applicationsto end users that use this

logrotate script not working
Hey guys,
Got a quick question and I hope this is an easy one!
In my /etc/logrotate.conf file I have the following entry:
# rotate all of the apache logs -- we'll rotate them here
/var/log/mysqld.log {
weekly
size 50M
create 0644 mysql mysql
rotate 1
}
And from that I would expect the log to rotate when it reaches 50M in size.
However I just caught that log weighing
