Pass iPhone/iTouch through kvm to Win7 VM?
I'm all Linux at home and trying to get a Win7 running in a VM on CentOS
5.6 and kvm to connect to my iTouch and iPhone.
When I plug the iPhone in and run lsusb I get an address of 05AC:12A0
I put that into a hostdev block in the xml file that defines the VM.
<hostdev mode='subsystem' type='usb' managed='no'>

Pass iPhone/iTouch through kvm to Win7 VM?
...red there is a
CentOS-virt list also where this would be more appropriate.
At home, I'm all Linux and only run Windows in VMs when I absolutely
have to (e.g., TurboTax on Win7 during the tax filing season).
Now I'm trying to get Win7 running in a VM on CentOS
5.6 and kvm to connect to my iTouch and iPhone so I can sync them with
iTunes.
When I plug the iPhone in and run lsusb I get an address of 05AC:12A0

vampire doesn't appear to be working at the moment?
Hello All,
Software environment is RedHat 8.0 running Samba 3.0.4 compiled from
source downloaded from planetmirror. When I try to run net rpc vampire
-S pdc -U administrator%password I get a message like this
Cannot import users from ITOUCHAU at this time, as the current domain:
ITOUCH-1008: S-1-5-21-3757787686-1591169446-1440766903
conflicts with the remote domain
ITOUCHAU: S-1-5-21-991195760-36068510-1124750213
Perhaps you need to set:
security=user
workgroup=ITOUCHAU
in your smb.conf?

IPFW Bandwidth throttling?
I am trying to limit outgoing SMTP traffic to about 14 Mbps and these are
the IPFW rules I am using.
${fwcmd} add pipe 1 tcp from 192.168.0.0/24 to any 25 out via dc0
${fwcmd} pipe 1 config bw 14Mbit/s
I've tried multiple tweaks to the pipe rule and I seem to be missing
something. I only get about half the bandwidth I specify. Is this normal
behavior? Is there something wrong

smbldap-populate issues?
...d but I'm not sure exactly how...
As you can see the first ou creates work, so it must at least be binding
to the ldap server, but it seems to have a problem with the samba
objectclass?
Any assistance much appreciated.
Regards
Eric
Here's what I'm getting from smbldap-populate

Corporate drop box for files
I need to provide a means for our people to stop using the mail server
as a file server, a web site with a friendly interface has been asked
for instead of an ftp server.
Anyone know of something/project that exists already?
Thanks!

virt-io drivers for 64 bit Win7 needed for USB passthrough?
Have been trying to get a 64-bit Win7 guest to access a usb thumbdrive
(and eventually an Apple iTouch). Host is CentOS 6.2 and the guest is
running under qemu-kvm with SELinux enabled and sVirt separating guests
from each other and guests from the host.
Do I need to install the virt-io drivers in the Win7 guest, or are there
more permission and SELinux blocks in my path?

2. Adding Windows 2000, XP workstation on the fly.
3. PDBEDIT/SMBLDAP-TOOLS/GQ all works as they suppose to.

how to configure a FreeBSD firewall to pass IPSec?
I have a FreeBSD box acting as a firewall and NAT gateway
I would like to set it up to transparently pass IPSec packets -- I have
an IPSec VPN client running on another machine, connecting to a remote network.
Is there a way to do this? I can't find any hints in the man pages.
