Only Netbeui on the client is it possible ?
HI all ! I've read in a doc, that Samba is talking only with the clients where Netbios over TCP/IP is running ! I guess it is true, but are there any solution maybe to connect with a client where only the NETBEUI is the only one installed protocol ? It would be from DOS, I have a DOS boot disk which is waking up the Netbeui, and it would be difficult to prepare it to wake up the TCP/IP !

randomly disconnected with imap, and latest hg
Hi! I'm using latest hg from the 1.1 branch, and noticed that since yesterday's updates, dovecot randomly disconnects clients when using imap, with these message in the log: "Disconnected for inactivity in reading our output bytes=153/41319" This happens randomly. Eg. I'm fetching messages, and suddenly, dovecot disconnects. Or my MUA just sits there, and then again,

smbclient for netbeui+core protocol only print servers
...missing feature(imho, without it my print server dfidn't work) in the 2.4.17-acme5 patch (and the 2.4.19pre8-ac patches too I think), in the llc code. Using an IBM 8227 Lan Entry Access Point
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi: I'm using Red Hat 7.0 and stock samba. I just bought an 8227 IBM Access point from eBay, and it says it needs a Lan Manager server supporting LLC to download the boot image. Can Linux and Samba be used to support this access point? If so, could someone point the way where I can find docs to configure this setup? Thank you. - -- Alfredo

SIP Listen to multiple ports
Hello all I'm trying to get my asterisk config to listen to multiple ports. This is since some clients have port 5060 blocked by their ISP. Does anyone know how to do this in sip.conf or if it is even supported? Thanks!

master user can not login with digest-md5 password
Hi! I'm trying to use a master user, here is what I'm doing: dovecot.conf: auth default { [...] passdb passwd-file { args = /etc/dovecot.passdb_master pass = yes master = yes } passdb passwd-file { args = /etc/dovecot.passdb } [...] } (Dovecot said that one can not place the passdb containing "master = yes" last, why?) This only works if the master

append bug in 1.1beta4?
Hi! I'm guessing this is the append bug which is still present in dovecot-1.1beta4?: Info: IMAP(leva): Disconnected: EOF while appending bytes=31665/119125 This happens after sending a mail, and trying upload/copy that mail from my local "Sent" folder to my IMAP server's Sent folder. Daniel

dovecot deliver tries to setuid but why?
Hi! I've set up postfix(2.4.1) + dovecot(1.0-cvs) + dovecot-lda(1.0-cvs). Dovecot's deliver is running as vmail:vmail (according to postfix's master.cf). Now the problem (when receiving mail): deliver(leva): auth input: leva deliver(leva): auth input: uid=8006 deliver(leva): auth input: gid=8000 deliver(leva): auth input: home=/var/mail/virtual/leva deliver(leva): setuid(8006)

upgrading from 1.0 to 1.1
Hi! I've been using 1.0 cvs always. Now that 1.0 is final, I would like to continue testing the future dovecot, and thought I'd ask if there is anything I must be aware of, if I'm trying to upgrade to 1.1 cvs. Thanks! Daniel

separate partition for index/uidlist
Hi! What's a safe place for the separate index and uidlist files? I am planning to configure Quota/FS. Can they reside under dovecot's basedir? Is this a good idea? Does it have any significance where I put those files? Thanks, Daniel

recent master-settings.c and main.c changes breaks dovecot on my system

separate passdb for imap and pop3
Hi! Is this possible? I couldn't find any writings about the 'auth' (like 'auth default') keyword in the wiki. What does that mean? Can I setup seperate user and password dbs for sepearate circumstances? I've tried to experiment with it and added two auths: auth pop3 { mechanisms = plain digest-md5 passdb passwd-file { args = /etc/dovecot_pop3.passwd }

imap service not working
Hi! I'm using dovecot-1.0.rc7 with pop3 and imap. The pop3 is ok, really, no problem at all. With imap, I have the following problem: From the client side it looks like it logs in - logs out - logs in - logs out... can not see any emails or directories. From the server side, I can see these in the logs: dovecot: Aug 26 22:29:00 Info: auth(default): client in: AUTH 1 PLAIN

per user smb.conf
Hello! I need a user defined config file for samba. I mean there must be a file called ~/.samba.conf or ~/.smb.conf or whatever, where a simple user can maintain his own shares, probably under his own home dir. Is it possible to config samba to enable "per user" samba config files, to let simple user share their own dirs/files without the root's permission. Does samba support

changing share name?
Hello! Is it possible to change the share name of the [homes] section.
