Where to download Junghanns ISDNguard software?
Hi list,
I recently purchased an ISDNguard from Junghanns. It came with no
software and there is no sign on their website or in any of their
documentation where to download it. I have looked in
http://www.junghanns.net/downloads/ and there is no sign of it there
either. The only thing remotly close ther is
isdnguard-asterisk-1.2.13.patch. T...

$70 USD bounty for simple Junghanns ISDNguard shell script
Hi all,
I recently purchased a Junghanns ISDNguard and to my horror I found out:
- Junghanns technical support is non-existant
- I can't use it without recompiling Asterisk with res_watchdog
My situation:
- Recompiling Asterisk with thrid party code is not an option us
- We only need it for manual failover - don't require all the fancy

Question about ISDNguard
Hi,
1. How have you connected your ISDNGuard (see
http://www.junghanns.net/en/ISDNguard_produkt.html) box to your server ?
Datasheet mentions RS232 requirement so I'm wondering if a USB-serial cord
could fulfill this requirement ?
2. How does it go back into standard mode from failover mode ?

160 analogue phones..
...Background information:
A client wishes to replace their current PBX with a new VoIP system.
Currently they have 2 PRIs.
I intent to set up 2 asterisk PBXs with Debian GNU/Linux on raided
drives. These drives will be mounted only read-only to recover
gracefully from power-cycles. I am considering 2 ISDNGuards in front of
the machines.
More to the point: The client has 160 existing analogue telephones which
they don't really want to change right now, because a) they are very
cheap b) the users don't need to re-train.
I have thought of Rhino Channelbanks, but then realised I need to use 7
of the...

Failover Device?
First,
Something seems to be wrong with the list. I'm not the only person
who has expressed seeing their messages either arrive late, or not at
all.
With that out of the way..
Is anyone aware of any type of failover device for PRI on asterisk?
I've found the ISDNGuard, however it is currently not made in the
U.S., nor does it run on U.S. power.
Is anyone aware of a device that will detect (heartbeat?) if Asterisk
is running, and if not, failover to a backup server?

Poor man's High Availability solution
Hi,
I'm wondering what the best option to obtain a high availability
asterisk server is.
I currently use a TE410P (4 x E1) card.
I'm thinking of 2 different solutions:
- 2 servers configured with Heartbeat + DRBD (drbd mainly for
voicemail....) and the E1 span plugged to the 2 servers (with a TE410P
in each server).
- 2 servers configures with Heartbeat + DRBD with the E1 span hooked

Crash related to "asterisk -rx" ?
Hi list,
Last Friday, an Asterisk server became unresponsive after ~8,5 months of
smooth operation (~320000 calls). Server did reply to pings, but no ssh,
no more console login. Also Asterisk no longer took calls, but ISDNguard
watchdog was still alive. Looking at the logs after reboot, I could not
find anything significant, except in a file created by the following
command via a cron job:
date >> /var/log/asterisk/calls.log ; asterisk -rx "show channels
concise" >> /var/log/asterisk/calls.log...

RedFone foneBRIDGE2 2e1 - anyone used it oranother TDMoE bridge?
For high-availability Asterisk when using PRI Lines, you might also want
to check out our product (FSV-4PFS). It's available at
www.failsafevoip.com
Bill
Also to add to the last post does this device have hardware echo cancelation?
if it does it could be a great replacement, if not may not be what I'd
really want to use.
Thanks,
tom

PRI and QSIG
...on connecting our Asterisk to our legacy PBX (an Avaya INDeX).
I was originally going to sit it between our ISDN connection and the INDeX
(tried it, worked ok) but now I intend to hang it off a spare PRI card just
so should the * fail we keep our ISDN's at the INDeX, yes I've looked at
ISDNguard but little info from the manufacturers.
Anyhow, I'm now thinking about using QSIG, I've configured two spans of a
TE405P as switchtype = qsig and connected them back to back for testing and
calls are ok. However, I cant find any documentation relating to what
messages I might see come...

PRI Bridging and Recording
Hi All
Does anyone have any ideas around what processing power is needed when
bridging PRI channels and recording?
I am not sure how the bridging takes place with and without recording?
I basically have a situation like this:
Telko <----> Asterisk <-----> Legacy PBX
Where the lines are PRI's between Telko and Asterisk and Asterisk and
the Legacy PBX.
At what level does

TE410P alarms stay RED with 1.4.22
Hi,
I tried "upgrading" from debian's 1.4.21.2 package to vanilla 1.4.22 but
then my TE410P alarms stay RED and no zap channels can be created, even
if they are correctly listed by "zap show channels". I tried adding
"dahdichanname = no" to asterisk.conf's [options] to no effect.
Going back to 1.4.21.2 brings my alarms back to OK.
This is with zaptel
