Catching non-Merb::ControllerExceptions Exceptions
...de of Merb? For example, DataMapper now throws a
DataMapper::ObjectNotFoundError when a record isn''t found in the db.
I''d like to catch these exceptions and raise a C:E:NotFound exception
instead, but without having to wrap a lot of code in begin/rescue/end
blocks.
Thanks,

Speed/latency issues for development in a Wine environment
...her
changes they would like to make to the Wine source code to reduce startup
latency. For example, if Wine establishes a useless GUI environment each
time a command such as gcc is run under Wine, I would be happy to test a
run-time option to eliminate that.

Is anyone using C7 in production yet? (sssd, nss-pam-ldapd, kerberos, etc)
Hi all,
Is anyone using C7 in production with LDAP and kerberos?
Currently all of my machines run C5 or C6 with nss-pam-ldapd or nss_ldap,
with kerberos and pam_krb5 for authentication.
Before I fire up a test VM (is it even worth it?) I wanted to check
feedback from the community.
Cheers!

The __WINE__ macro does not identify the Wine platform
...ine at raven> wine gcc -D__WINE__ test.c
wine at raven> wine ./a.exe
hello, WINE world
but the issue is that should happen automatically instead.
Is there some better macro I should be using to identify when a build
is occurring on the wine platform?

IPFW Bandwidth throttling?
I am trying to limit outgoing SMTP traffic to about 14 Mbps and these are
the IPFW rules I am using.
${fwcmd} add pipe 1 tcp from 192.168.0.0/24 to any 25 out via dc0
${fwcmd} pipe 1 config bw 14Mbit/s
I've tried multiple tweaks to the pipe rule and I seem to be missing
something. I only get about half the bandwidth I specify. Is this normal
behavior? Is there something wrong

rsync script for snapshot backups
...ily.1 to
monthly.1
It's been running now for about 4 years and, in my environment, the 10
copies take about 4 times the space of a single copy.
(we do complete copies of linux servers - starting from /)
If there's a good spot to post the scripts, I'd be glad to put them up.

It works well. Use sssd instead of nss-pam-ldapd and nss_ldap and pam_krb5.

clone a disk
...essie_mbr_sda
The device names might be different - the mount folder may be different
- etc...
But the idea works. - With a new, blank drive, you could recreate the
partitions using fdisk, reverse the dd commands, boot and then work on
getting the second partition back up and running.
