Irritant
Hi again, I've got a nagging irritant with either putty or the man pages, or perhaps my setup. If I use putty to log into my server and request any man page, it returns the page, but really important stuff like keywords are blank. Is this perhaps caused by the wrong terminal setting in putty or is there something with Centos man pages that cause this to happen? Thanks again, Sam

Open a new script from R command prompt
Hi, (this is a minor irritation), is it possible for me to call R's editor from the R command prompt (I searched for script but that didn't yield anything). (The mouse-file-new-script route is a minor irritation )

slight irritation using digest (from the ports)
Hello Folks! For a special application I needed to create digests (or hashes) using the whirlpool algorithem. It was kind of hard to find something that actually did that. But I found digest in the ports tree - ok, with some help from someone who seemed to know what to look for. :-) What irritates me is the Wikipedia-page on Whirlpool: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whirlpool_%28algorithm%29

grub irritants
It appears that if I do anything to grub.conf, say, take out the rhgb quiet, after every succeding kernel update, I have to manually edit grub.conf, because the kernel update - maybe the post install script? - will set the default to be the previous kernel. Has anyone got a solution to this, so that a kernel update will give the new kernel as the default? mark

Irritating bug on Sanitarium (game)
So, after a lot of work and headaches I finally got the game I wanted (Sanitarium) running well on Wine. Except one thing. The cursor leaves this anoying trace of black color behind. And the game is a "point&click" game. Which makes this really anoying. Is there any way I can solve this? On AppDB people don't seem to complain about that on older (and unstable) versions of the

samba 3b3 irritation

I don't have any ms machines below win 2k and as such I don't care how long my names are infact having a name like eposd1_logs is far more useful than epslt1 or something equally non descriptive. 2 pretty irritating issues....
Hey All ~ 1, queue records on fairly unreliable. I would say about 40 - 60 percent of the queue calls are not being recorded and I'm not sure why. I don't seem to see any kind of pattern to the failure. I've added a sample of our queue config at the bottom. 2, cel_pgsql module seems to crash regularly. It seems every time I look at our asterisk server, the cel_pgsql module is

some irritation with heteroskedasticity testing
Dear all, Trying to test for heteroskedasticity I tried several test from the car package respectively lmtest. Now that they produce rather different results i am somewhat clueless how to deal with it. Here is what I did: 1. I plotted fitted.values vs residuals and somewhat intuitively believe, it isn't really increasing... 2. further I ran the following tests bptest (studentized

Tranferring R results to word prosessors
I have just started looking at R, and are getting more and more irritated at myself for not having done that before. However, one of the things I have not found in the documentation is some way of preparing output from R for convenient formatting into something like MS Word. An example: If you use summary(lm(....)) you get nice output. However, if you try to past...
