Mongrel Web Server 0.3.12.1 -- Iron Mongrel
Hello All Mongrel Users,
For the unintiated, Mongrel is a web server that runs Ruby web applications
really fast. Read http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/ to get find out more about
it.
This is the Iron Mongrel release. It is the result of trying to trash
Mongrel until it can''t move and then fixing anything that comes up. The
work was done on EastMedia''s and VeriSign''s upcoming project in order to
make sure it can handle heavy loads and potentially malformed requests....

This may come across more bitter than I intend it to be. So please take
this with a grain of salt. I find it ironic that someone who works for Sun
Microsystems has to download binaries :-)
It's been awhile since I put Samba on a Sun, but for years users, who
weren't developers, had to find other people's binaries, or go through the
hassle of bootstrap compiling gcc, or some other mess to get sa...

To be clear, I was being ironic. Hence the smiley face.
I just wanted to start a thread for future updates to appear in.

Mongrel Web Server 0.3.12.2 -- Iron Mongrel (Parser Fix)
Hello Everyone,
This is an ultra quick announce for a bug fix release to Mongrel. It
corrects a small change in the HTTP parser that causes an error when people
use multi-part forms in a certain way. The fix is literally 4 characters
changed in the parser specification.
Everyone should update to this release and let me know if their forms act
really weird. I''ve tested various upload

why dtrace is not quiet?
i''m running the following script:
#pragma D option quiet
profile:::tick-1sec
/ ++x >= 15 /
{
exit(0);
}
io:::start {
@io_size[execname] = sum(args[0]->b_bcount);
}
on exit, the script prints out the value of @io_size, why?
there''s no printa(), and i also specified "D option quiet" (i also tried -q).
this seems to happen with any kind of probe: on exit(0) all

Send in your favorite CentOS slogan today
Hi everyone,
The CentOS project is looking for more slogans that may end up on
promotional material (eg media, flyers, posters or stickers). We already
collected a few funny, ironic, sarcastic or even distasteful ones.
Feel free to visit our Slogans wiki page for a good laugh or rude
offenses and add your own slogan by sending them to this thread.

Splitting a set of vectors in a list
...what I want is to
be able to create a matrix of them. Other than some
kind of brute force looping approach I have drawn a
blank.
Would somebody please suggest something? Thanks
Example.
mylist <- list(aa=c("cat","peach" ), bb=c("dog",
"apple", "iron"),
cc = c("rabbit", "orange", "zinc", "silk"))
myfun <- function(dff) dff[1]
vect1 <- unlist(lapply(mylist, myfun))

Are we ready for a release ?
Hi campers,
what do you think of releasing the current trunk as camping-1.6 ?
Nothing much has moved since a while and apart from FastCGI, I believe
most bugs where ironed out.
After the gem release, I propose putting some effort on documentation
and how to use Rack''s FastCGI. When that''s done, we''ll have a
Rubyforge announcement and such.
/me is waiting for community input
