cannot allocate vector of size...
Hi, I know that this question has been asked several times before but I haven't been able to find an answer. I'm running R on a P3 933 with 384 MB of RAM. The system is running Windows XP Home. I'm trying to read a 1054 row by 30303 column matrix from a tab delimited text file ("file.txt") into R using the following command: m <- matrix(scan(file

OT: Canada's Primus introduces SIP localservice
I am sure Primus has a SIP platform because we have played with it. We managed to use it on MSN's SIP phone as well as couple Zultys ZIP2x2 hard phones. Their PC-Phone app is also a SIP soft phone. If you are registering to sip.iprimus.net then it is definitely their SIP platyform not MGCP. David >>> asterisk-users@eol.ca 1/21/2004 6:39:34 AM >>> I'm not sure Primus uses SIP. chkrootkit and 4.10-prerelease issues?
Has anyone else seen chkrootkit (version 0.43) on 4.10-prerelease or later report chfn, chsh, and date as infected? I built world yesterday, and my nightly chkrootkit reports this on run. I've replaced the binaries with their 4.9 equivalents, and things don't report as infected. I upgrade the 4.9 machine to 4.10, and chkrootkit reports them as infected again. Is this similar to the

Neural Network Question
Hi, I'm using the R nnet package to train a classifier to recognise items which belong to a particular class and those which don't belong to the class. I'm supplying nnet with a matrix x containing training examples (in each row) and a matrix y of targets. The training set is made up of 200 positive examples and 1000 negative examples. I want to train the network on the same

Apps under wine
Hi all, I've got notepad.exe to work under wine (i think it's built in). I'm trying to get wordpad.exe to work now. It's currently in ~/driveC/Program Files/Accessories. Wine says it can't find wordpad.exe. Do i need to add an explicit path for it in wine config, or should the windows registry supply the path? Is it any use copying the original windows registry to wine?

Samba as PDC
Hi Guys, I have been running Linux for about 4 years now and currently have setup master controller in a Samba config (security=share) under Ubuntu, moved the DNSMasq off to a Pi box, setting up a DMZ with Apache+ and run a number of laptops with linuxmint and windows for the kids. I came across an issue with uid:gid on the server indicating Nemo does not pick up file ownership from the

Win98 not doing name resolution.
I recently reinstalled Linux on my fileserver (RedHat 7.2), which was running Samba (v 2.2.1a). Now, trying to reconfigure Samba back to its original state (silly me didn't keep a copy of the conf file) I've run into a problem. My win98 machines can't find the Samba server by name, but they can by number. By this I mean: On a Linux desktop, smbclient -L //marvin/ works as

oplock break
When trying to delete or copy over certain files on my Samba server, Windows hangs for some time and then gives "access denied". I can delete these files directly from the server, so it's a Samba or Windows problem. There seems to be nothing special about these files, other than that Samba doesn't like touching them. Upon checking the Samba logs, I find this message or
