Multicast groups? within crossbow and over IPMP?
We have had an interesting issue with Market Data and Network Interface failures in the past with ipmp (or even VCS multinicA).. Multicast groups can not span multiple interfaces and in our environment when we have a network failure the interface is failed over however the multicast group does not. The only way to recreate the multicast group is to restart the application with the active network i...

Does IPMP work in 2009.06?
I want to bond together both interfaces on my dom0 using IPMP to provide a redundant path. Is this supported? - I''ve done a google and found no specific mention of doing exactly this so I''d like to know if it is possible before I attempt it. Many thanks, Matt. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

ZFS and multipath with iSCSI
We''re currently designing a ZFS fileserver environment with iSCSI based storage (for failover, cost, ease of expansion, and so on). As part of this we would like to use multipathing for extra reliability, and I am not sure how we want to configure it. Our iSCSI backend only supports multiple sessions per target, not multiple connections per session (and my understanding is that the

[Bug 1014] SCP slow bandwidth with Solaris8 on n240
...verity: normal Priority: P2 Component: scp AssignedTo: openssh-bugs at mindrot.org ReportedBy: banville_c at hotmail.com Hi, I'm experiencing some bandwidth issue when using SCP on SunOS and using SUN hardware platform n240. These n240 server are using SUN IPMP feature. The SCP bandwidth issue is seen when files are transfered between two n240 servers using the active IP Interface (bge0). When the inactive IP Interface (bge1) is used to execute the transfer, no bandwidth issue is seen. Bandwidth issue is only seen when SCP "get" is execute...

Slightly OT: which hardware for CentOS file server (Samba, 2 To storage, 50 users)?
Hi, The language lab from the local university has contacted me. They'd like to have a low-cost file server for storing all their language video files. They have a mix of Windows, Mac OS X and even Linux clients, roughly 50 machines. The files are quite big, and they calculated a total amount of 2 To of storage. I'm not very proficient with hardware, meaning either I'm dealing

Bursty writes - why?
I have a 24 x 1TB system being used as an NFS file server. Seagate SAS disks connected via an LSI 9211-8i SAS controller, disk layout 2 x 11 disk RAIDZ2 + 2 spares. I am using 2 x DDR Drive X1s as the ZIL. When we write anything to it, the writes are always very bursty like this: ool 488K 20.0T 0 0 0 0 xpool 488K 20.0T 0 0 0 0 xpool

dlstat for data link statistics
(Bcc''ed to networking discuss). Hi All, Have enclosed man page draft for dlstat(1M) herewith. This is part of the effort to gain better visibility into network traffic in light of crossbow features like virtual NICs, interrupt vs. polling modes etc. This in turn would greatly assist network performance analysis. It is also aimed at segregating link/flow configuration from

Refactor ovirt-node-image code base for inclusion in Fedora
Main reason for refactor is no ovirt-node-image binary image allowed in fedora. Removed ks files, now in ovirt-node-recipe, which is subpackage of ovirt-node. Removed tools, these are now in ovirt-node-recipe which is subpackage of ovirt-node.

Refactor ovirt-node code base for inclusion in Fedora
Main reason for refactor is no ovirt-node-image binary image allowed in fedora. Moves tools and kickstart files form ovirt-node-image to subpackage ovirt-node-recipe. Removes old sub packages form ovirt-node, stateless, logos, selinux. Modifies init scripts to meet Fedora packaging guidelines: added status, reload, and lockfile, rhbz: 514221 Added License file.
