Installing IPass Connect...
Hi - I'm attempting to install iPass Connect with Wine in Ubuntu. The setup executes for a while, and then I get an error dialog that says "Database support not found. Your system must meet the following minimum system requirements: 1) Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher 2) Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP1 3) 16-bit color m...

[OFFTOPIC] integrated LSI 3008 :: number of hdd support
Hi guys! Unfortunately there is no offtopic list but the subject
is somehow related to centos as the OS is/will be centos :)
So, under this thin cover i ask :
Is it possible that for a SAS controler like LSI 3008 that in specs
says that : "This high-performance I/O controller supports T-10
data protection model and optical support, PCIe hot plugging,
and up to 1,000 connected devices"

[OFFTOPIC] integrated LSI 3008 :: number of hdd support
In my experience the mass market HBAs and RAID cards typically do support
only 8 or 16 drives. For the internal variety in a standard rack-mount
server you'll usually see either 2 or 4 iPass cables (each of which support
4 drives) connected to the backplane. The marketing material you've
referenced has a white lie in it: supporting more than 16 drives on a
single card is very likely only possible with an additional SAS expander
board. I believe Supermicro does sell some pre-confi...

[PATCH 1/5] PCI: Recognize Thunderbolt devices
...ves are connected to the PCI hierarchy.
>From a pure PCI perspective, I assume it would be conceivable to have
two Thunderbolt-connected GPUs feeding into a mux. Or to have a GPU
(unrelated to the mux) in a non-Thunderbolt plugin slot or connected
externally via a non-Thunderbolt switch and an iPass cable.
If that's the case, and we're using Thunderbolt-connectedness as a
hint that happens to work for the hardware we know about now, that's
fine -- I'm just trying to understand what's a hint and what's
intrisic to being connected via Thunderbolt.

JBOD recommendation for ZFS usage
Dear all
Sorry if it''s kind of off-topic for the list but after talking
to lots of vendors I''m running out of ideas...
We are looking for JBOD systems which
(1) hold 20+ 3.3" SATA drives
(2) are rack mountable
(3) have all the nive hot-swap stuff
(4) allow 2 hosts to connect via SAS (4+ lines per host) and see
all available drives as disks, no RAID volume.

smbpasswd fails on Samba 2.0.3, HPUX 10.20
I have been unable to make smbpasswd work on my new Samba version 2.0.3
(HPUX 10.20).
The smb.conf was modified from a working version on Linux (version
1.9.18p8).
The relevant (I hope) output from smbpasswd, smb.log and testparms follow
below.
Are the log messages about "Couldn't set effective gid to -24 currently set

and "Can't become connected

Apparent SAS HBA failure-- now what?
My setup: A SuperMicro 24-drive chassis with Intel dual-processor
motherboard, three LSI SAS3081E controllers, and 24 SATA 2TB hard drives,
divided into three pools with each pool a single eight-disk RAID-Z2. (Boot
is an SSD connected to motherboard SATA.)
This morning I got a cheerful email from my monitoring script: "Zchecker has
discovered a problem on bigdawg." The full output is

[PATCH 0/5] Thunderbolt GPU fixes
Fix Thunderbolt-related issues in apple-gmux and vga_switcheroo:
Patch [1/5] ("Recognize Thunderbolt devices") has already been subjected
to a fair amount of scrutiny over at linux-pci@, I've submitted it 5 times
total since May 2016. With luck it may be in ack-able shape now.
Patch [2/5] amends apple-gmux to handle combined DP/Thunderbolt ports
properly on newer MacBook Pros.

Going from 6 to 8 disks on ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard
My current home fileserver (running Open Solaris 111b and ZFS) has an ASUS
M2N-SLI DELUXE motherboard. This has 6 SATA connections, which are
currently all in use (mirrored pair of 80GB for system zfs pool, two
mirrors of 400GB both in my data pool).
I''ve got two more hot-swap drive bays. And I''m getting up towards 90%
full on the data pool. So, it''s time to expand,

Problem with NT encryption to Linux Samba Server
Hi all,
I apologize if this question has been answered before.
I'm very new to setting up samba server in RedHat linux 6.0 and accessing it
from windows NT 4.0 SP3.
I set up samba server (2.0.3) with encryption so that when I access
it from NT, the NT box won't complain about sending password in a
clear text over the wire.
I created /etc/smbpasswd using mksmbpasswd.sh utility

Cannot access Samba Server from NT client (service pack 5)
I have a samba server running on a Solaris server, which uses unix

but still cannot access my samba server.
I get an error indicating that the login is not allowed to login
from this station?
I'm new to NT, so I expect this is a conflict between domain
authentication and unix samba server authentication. As, I login
through a NT

solaris 2.5.1 still no good
Hello,
I've got the same problem like this one.
Can somebody send the snprintf.c or other ways around please?
Thanks,

I just email'd, from my other account, the snprintf.c that we distribute
in PostgreSQL...its been thoroughly tested on all the platforms that we
support, with Solaris 2.5.1 being one of
