nss_wins
Is there a way to use nss_wins to get the hosts of the windows domain without joining the domain? I do have a login into the network but the company I am with is a bit sticky about allowing a linux machine to join the network. If it is possible, is there some kind of how to to do it and what I need to configure to make it work? Does it require winbindd to run? I am currently running under

samba problems after IP change
I want to use samba to back up some directories on a QNX server to a Windows office network drive. (For those who may not be familiar with it, QNX is a commercial OS similar to Unix.) I am a samba newbie, but managed to fumble my way through this, using cron on the QNX machine to run smbclient command to copy a tar file to the Windows drive: smbclient //swin0001/comq -U$userpass -WCNT \

Unable to resolve my problem after long time of reading and searching I decide to ask for help to the experts. The problems is that there is no browse list even thought everything works fine. I can share files with others machines but don't see anything on network neighborhood. We use the OpenBSD 3.6 box with Samba 2.2 only for DNS and Wins. Please Help! Here is my smb.conf file. # This is
