Problems with power management
I do not seem to be able to get any where with the power management
functions. I have had a look at the xenpm Wiki page, but it hasn''t
helped. Its probably something completely obvious, but I can''t see it.

Intel S5000PSL motherboard with 2 x Xeon 5410s. Dom0 is running the
latest Centos 5.3 kernel.

...entries that are set to delivery mode SMI.
While this seems reasonable if the entry was unmasked, I consider it
dubious for masked entries.
In Linux, such behavior is benign since when the entry later is being
used for some normal interrupt, the old setting is simply overwritten.
In Xen, however, ioapic_guest_write() uses the vector field to
determine the previous associated IRQ and possibly call
remove_pin_at_irq() - this is where we got a report of a hypervisor
crash - the BUG() in the first loop of this function triggers.
Since I see two ways of fixing this (and perhaps there are more),

[PATCH] linux, S3: dom0 doesn''t need save ioapic state
...3
suspend/resume, as Xen already does it. The more important
is to avoid warnings on some platforms which may have
uninitialized RTEs to be weird value (like smi mode) but
masked. When dom0 saves those entries and then write back
later, it''s easy to trigger Xen''s sanity check from
ioapic_guest_write.

[PATCH 2/3] xen: make direct versions of irq_enable/disable/save/restore to common code
Now that x86-64 has directly accessible percpu variables, it can also
implement the direct versions of these operations, which operate on a
vcpu_info structure directly embedded in the percpu area.
In fact, the 64-bit versions are more or less identical, and so can be
shared. The only two differences are:
1. xen_restore_fl_direct takes its argument in eax on 32-bit, and rdi on 64-bit.
