hex editor for huge files

hex editor for huge files
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 hexpeek: a hex editor for huge files Occasionally I need to work with huge binary files. Over the years I've tried many different tools and never found one that was exactly what I wanted. In my experience most hex editors either (1) do not work well with 4GB+ files or (2) require the user to learn a curses interface and are not scriptable. So

RPM install issues
I am making a new box to test with and was trying to install shorewall via rpm. So I download the shorewall 2.2.5 rpm and issue a rpm -ivh shorewall-2.2.5-1.noarch.rpm. I then get an error: error: Failed dependencies: which is needed by shorewall-2.2.5-1.noarch So as you can see there are no dependency issues. I thought I saw this on the mailing list a while ago but I just searched for it I did

SysV install problem in FC4
After a fresh install, I noticed that shorewall 2.4.0 wasn''t starting automatically under FC4. The startup script installs properly from the rpm: /etc/rc.d/init.d/shorewall ... but the post install "/sbin/chkconfig --add shorewall" produces this in the runlevel symlink directories: /etc/rc.d/rc5.d/S-1shorewall /etc/rc.d/rc0.d/K-1shorewall /etc/rc.d/rc6.d/K-1shorewall

After adding the entry I am able to connect to port 110 but for some reason the pop3 server is failing the password authentication (see below). With the same userid/passwd I am able to ssh into the
