another iscsi question
I have an iscsi array that I'd like to mount and share using NFS and I
need it to happen without user intervention on a reboot. In the default
configuration this doesn't seem to work very well because the iscsi
intiator isn't started until after the network is up (obviously) and by
that time all local filesystems are mounted. I can't mount the
partitions in rc.local because NFS

Desperate question about MPXIO with ZFS-iSCSI
I''m trying to set up a iscsi connection (with MPXIO) between my Vista64 workstation and a ZFS storage machine running OpenSolaris 10 (forget the exact version).
On the ZFS machines, I have two NICS. NIC #1 is 192.168.1.102, and NIC #2 is 192.168.2.102. The NICs are connected to two separate switches serving two separate IP spaces.
On my Vista64 machine, I also have two NICs connected in

Voip as a secure service?
Hi All,
I was just reading through Info Week while on a flight and happened
upon an brief piece about a new VOIP security intiative worked up by a
handful of the usual suspects; Alcatel, SMU, NIST, Symantec, etc. All
of this begs the question of can't we get just do this as a user
community?
I understand that the Zultys phone, which I own several, support AES
encryption of the RTP stream. There's been some preliminary...

CentOS wiki/web changes
...link on the website. I now copied the
content over to the wiki and modified it slightly. We probably should
rethink the page wrt. donations and give some compelling reasons what
we need money for and how it is important to have a firm project in
place.
We could have some other intiatives to bring in money, like
CentOS-branded stuff we could sell, sell expensive CD/DVD media
(invoiced) etc... If we offer those on the donations page, people might
be more compelled to donate.
Any opinions ?

Understanding Call Handling In Asterisk
Hi,
I am a newbie to Asterisk; need help understanding three-way conferencing &
call-transfer features implemented over standard extensions i.e. on a
TDM800P card (4 FXO + 4FXS)
In Asterisk I have observed that if an extension is already participating in
an active call (e.g. Ext A & Ext B communicating):
1. An incoming call to one of these active extensions would be presented

callback with 3 way call?
i'm new with asterisk. i currently have 1 fxo port. my phone
line connected to the fxo is capable of 3 way calls using flash.
i'm thinking of a callback and then 3 way call from asterisk. is
this possible?
1. phone1 calls asterisk thru zap/fxo. asterisk gets callerid of
phone1.
2. asterisk will callback phone1 using zap/fxo.
3. phone1 answers and is prompted for a number to call.

WANTED: Q&A
First, I am really liking what I have seen so far in R. The demos are
quite fascinating, and I look forward to doing some really neat stuff
over the next little while with R.
Being but an intiate to R, I am having quite a bit of trouble figuring
out how to use the leaps library. Rather than ask several questions to
the list at large, I would rather explain what I'm trying to do to

No ring when doing blind transfer.
Hi,
I have an odd problem when doing a blind transfer. The transfer is
intiated and the transferred caller hears nothing until the timeout. I
have tried setting the 'r' and the 'm' variables in the dial command.
Nothing happens when I use the 'r' variable when I use the 'm' variable
I briefly hear music on hold and then it stops until the timeout for no

Help with: "Cannot copy Filename: The specified network name is no longer available" error
I am not sure if this is a windows problem or a Samba problem.
We have a network consisting of a mixture of Samba and windows
servers running under a windows PDC. The network is a WAN
with radio (802.11B) point-to-point links between buildings within the
campus, and frame relay and ADSL links to interstate offices.
The interstate offices have windows BDC's.
Most of the desktops are win2k

Oz ISDN
In Australia, Telstra, the local telco provides isdn modem for isdn
connection. The modem has 2 analogue telephone jacks and a serial port
for connection to dialup internet.
My question is that will it be possible to use Zaptel TDM02B to connect
to the analogue jack instead of getting a fritz card to do the
telephony. Will there be less feature if doing so?

Interesting Pool Import Failure
Hello... Since there has been much discussion about zpool import failures
resulting in loss of an entire pool, I thought I would illustrate a scenario
I just went through to recover a faulted pool that wouldn''t import under
Solaris 10 U5. While this is a simple scenario, and the data was not
terribly important, I think the exercise should at least give some piece of
mind to those who

ZAPTEL PROBLEM
Hi all,
I am using a TDM400P card with 2 FXS and 2 FXO modules. Everything
seems nice, but i'm not able to make calls nor to receive any. When I
try to make a call, I keep receiven the "all circuits are busy now"
message, and when I receive calls, asterisk doesn't seems to care
(don't get anything on the CLI)
I'm using Asterisk 1.2.17 and Zaptel 1.2.16 from Xorcom's

...ess).
There is a couple of other Wikis dedicated to R floating around, like:
http://www.okada.jp.org/RWiki/ (in Japanese) and
http://learnserver.csd.univie.ac.at/rcomwiki dedicated to R(D)COM and
RExcel essentially.
After a discussion, the R-Core Team decided to give support to one or
several intiatives to make a R Wiki, with a big concern about the
quality of information in the Wiki and how to keep it in phase with the
rapid development of R. Here is the mail send by Martin Maechler:
