runs.test in by() statement
Hi everybody
I am a recent convert from SAS so please excuse me if this is all very
obvious:
I want to use the runs test {runs.test() in package tseries} to test the

function.
Here is what I have: Consider a data frame with two variables and 40
observations. Column 1 is the name of the interviewer and 2 is a variable
that could be either 0 or 1. ] Thus "interviewer&q...

Rony 1.9.3-p0 on Rails 2.3.x: the helpers "require" problem
Yes, I know that Rails *2.3.x* is no longer fully supported (this is why
I''m posting it to rails/issues). Still, I would like to post the topic so
that everyone who experience the same problem could quickly google for it
(no, afaik no solution for this yet).
I''m trying to migrate a 1.5 years *2.3.x* app from Ruby version *1.8.7* to *
1.9.3-p0*.

Ruby Hacker Interview: Dave Balmain
Guess Dave wasn''t going to blow his own trumpet so someone else has to
do it for him. An interesting interview with Dave that filled in the
gaps on the About Me page I had asked about...

Video interview with Eben Moglen.
Hi all,
Hope this isn't off-topic, but I thought the lists
might be interested in a video interview I did with Eben
Moglen, the head of the Software Freedom Law Center. Eben
has given legal advice and help for Samba for many years,
and is a very interesting person to listen to.
Hope people find this enjoyable:

SAS language to R :interview
Dear List,
Please find a frank interview with Phil Rack, creator of Bridge to R (
from both SAS and WPS interfaces).
For those unaware of WPS- it is basically a SAS language compiler

at 660 $ a licence ( or estimated 10 times cheaper than Base SAS.
The UK based WPC held, WPS doesnt have advanced statistical facilities

Job market Rails, Java, C++, etc
I have been sending out my resume to whatever Rails jobs I can find.
There is a limitied supply unless you want to relocate. It seems like
the Rails stuff out there gets alot of applicants, though I am not sure
if they tend to be locals, very experienced etc.
I have also been applying for C++, Java, and Perl jobs. I have alot of
background in C++, but am a little rusty. I have done some Java, but
