dovecot-auth: Too many open files
All,
[version: dovecot-0.99.11-4.EL4.src.rpm]
We recently experienced an issue that prevented all new IMAP logins from
occurring. Although it appears that it was due to running out of
available system file descriptors, I'm still not sure what the true root
cause was as I can't replicate the same error in our test environment.
The system file descriptor max was set at (per `cat

[Bridge] Bringing up bridge at boot (properly)
Currently my ethernet bridge has 2 intel 100mps NIC's that are
both part of a bridge. ( I followed the sample setup on the bridge.sf.net
page.)
In addition to this I would like to access the internet from within the
ethernet bridge and when using the sample instructions I have no
gateway setup and no default route (0.0.0.0). I know this data has
to be attached to the bridge device and not to

[CFT] multi server failover setup
I''ve been meaning to test this setup somewhere for a while, but never
got the right app/(real) traffic/hardware to do it with. So maybe
somebody can try it out and let us know if this works...
It''s for applications running the same code/data on a cluster of
machines, so this doesn''t apply to the majority of low-traffic sites
out there.
The goal is to avoid having to

32 seconds vs 72 minutes -- expected performance difference?
## QUESTION
I am sharing a 120GB folder with lots of files via Samba on a LAN (1Gbps
connection).
1) Doing an `ls -lR` on the server (on this folder) takes ~32 seconds,
compared with **72 minutes** on the client. Is this difference in
performance expected (due to network and protocol overhead)?
2) While the client is executing an `ls -lR`, one smbd process on the
server uses about 30-40% of a

PIX!!!!!
Can anyone point me in a good direction for configuring SIP through a
PIX using 1:1 NAT. I have read anything I could get my hands on and
tried them all with very little success. I can get it to work through
the cheap little cable modem routers, but not this PIX.
I -can- make a direct SIP call using the IP address of the * server
(ie.exten@ipaddr), but when I do that * still doesn't
