Windows 2000 Scheduler Permission Problem
Hello,
I'm struggling with a Samba 3.07 installation on a Debian Sarge system.
This system is used as a backup server and a scheduler job on a windows
2000 server should backup some data on that system. The integration of
samba and the Windows 2000 domain works fine, as long as we interactivly
access the samba box from the windows server. In this case the user
is recognized correctly from the samba system. As soon as the job is
started from the scheduler I can't even access the samba box, because
there is no user mapped to samba. I got these error message in the
samba log:...

try()-function does not catch error in BATCH-job if Matrix is loaded
...nction to catch possible errors when
fitting models. I run the simulationon a Linux-server using the command
" R CMD BATCH nameOfFile.R &". When executing the code as batch-job I
get the problem that the execution is halted without giving an error
message. But when I run the code interactivly the error is catched by
try() as it would be expected.
The problem is somewhat strange as it only occurs when the code is
executed as a batch-job and when the package "Matrix" is loaded.
I wrote a small example reproducing the error. (In my code the error
occurs in mgcv:::fixDependen...

OT: mixing monitor files to stereo wav
...o wav files of a monitored call
into one. soxmix does that well but actually merges the two channels.
I would prefer a solution that creates a stereo wav file of the two mono
files so you have the called party on one (e.g. left) channel and the
calling party on the other (e.g. right).
I can do this interactivly using audacity but i am looking for a tool to
automate this.
Anybody knows a piece of open software that supports this?
Thanks in advance

What happenes with R-gnome? Suggestions
...one plot, and have them painted in other plots which
you have linked to this one. Rotatable 3-D graphics, with linked plots
for painting, would be nice. I think that XGOBI lets us do at least
sone of this, though I haven't yet looked into it. I do know that we
can identify any point on a plot interactivly, and that's incredibly
useful. But then it's a bear to find on the other view.
I think that if someone takes it into his head to make a GUI code
generator for R, that would be a grand thing, and I would certainly use
it. But I don't think that that's very high on my wishlist. I...
