Numerical integration
Hello! I know that probably my question is rather simple but I' m a very beginner R-user. I have to numerically integrate the product of two function A(x) and B(x). The integretion limits are [X*; +inf] Function A(x) is a pdf function while B(x)=e*x is a linear function whose value is equal to 0 when the x < X* Moreover I have to iterate this process for different value of X* and for

Unless you're doing something unsual, why not just run a second DC with it's own DNS server and let Samba handle it? You

so called hang-on-exit bug
...ost" even when termination has been explicitly requested. It is not productive to simply ignore "reported bugs" in a program. The issue is not really whether or not it is a bug for the terminal window to hang. I laud the "intent" of the developers in trying to preserve data integretity, the reasoning is sound. However, the practical aspect of that is a consumption of resources on the server that is untenable from an administrative standpoint. At some point, real world needs must overide academic purity. I have no objection whatsoever to someone else running a system that (I won...

Vim R plugin-2
Dear R users, People who uses vim in Linux/Unix may be interested in checking the plugin for R that I'm developing: http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2628 The plugin includes omni completion for R objects, code indentation and communication with R running in a terminal emulator (xterm or gnome-terminal). This last feature was already present in Johannes Ranke's plugin.

Kernel Source Divergence, Security (was: booting gbde-encrypted filesystem)
In message <20050731135919.GA43753@afields.ca>, Allan Fields writes: >Yes, this is all very nice, but when is someone actually going to >commit it? ;) I'm (as always) short of time, and GBDE is not the top priority for me for the time being. So I am more than happy to see people band together and improve gbde. The main work necessary is to polish the userland program and that

Re: Samba PDC and Kerberos(MIT or SEAM in Uinx, without microsoft ADS)
Hi, Thank you very much for you reply. Some people think storing the sensitive information in the LDAP is not very secure. They think the sensitive information and the public information should be stored in seperate place. So we want the samba PDC authentication can integrete the Kerberos authentication directly. Equivalence of TSQL Stored Proc and User defined functions
RoR Equivalence of TSQL Stored Procedures and User defined functions As I browsed through the tutorials and online eBook ?Programming Ruby?, I have not come across the terms ?Stored Procedures? or ?User-defined functions? as I know them in SQL 2000. However, the online documentations in MySQL 5.0 show that Stored Procedures and User-defined functions are supported in MySQL 5.0. I wonder what

help with interpreting what nnet() output gives:
Greetings list, I am new to programming in R, and am using nnet() function for a project on neural networking. Firstly I wish to ask if there is any pdf explaining the algorithm nnet uses, which could tell me what the objects of the nnet class, like 'conn', 'nconn, 'nsunits', n and 'nunits' mean, and how weights are calculated. The package pdf has little or no
