intamap plot : specifying cutoffs
Hello all,
A question for plotting of intamap results :
Is it possible, and in so, how, to specify the cutoff points for changing colors of plots ?
Using the example :
data(meuse)
meuse$value = log(meuse$zinc)
data(meuse.grid)
coordinates(meuse) = ~x+y
coordinates(meuse.grid) = ~x+y
object = interpolate(meuse,meuse.grid,outputWhat = list(mea...

New S3 methods for optional package
...ge after installing.
I have read about the use of "Suggest", "Enhances" etc in "Writing R
Extensions", but could not figure out the right way to do this. I am
sure there is something I am missing here.
If anyone wants to check possible solutions, package A is "intamap",
available from CRAN, whereas B is "rtop", available from Rforge:
**|install.packages("rtop", repos="http://R-Forge.R-project.org")|**
Thanks,

ggplot2 - extracting values of smooth
Suppose that I'm working on Hadley's diamond dataset and I want to
review the relationship between price, colour and carat.
I might run the following:
library(ggplot2)
#plot scatter and add some hex binning
q<-qplot(carat,price,data=diamonds, geom=c("hex"),
main="Variability of Diamond Prices by Carat and Colour")
#facet to get one scatter for

Help load a package into R
Dear R List,
I want to download kinship_1.2_S.tar.gz in http://mayoresearch.mayo.edu/mayo/research/biostat/splusfunctions.cfm

Are centre coordinates or upper left corners used of x, y for SpatialPixels?
Dear all,
I'm working with satellite images in R and plotting them via the code
below.
I was wondering whether coordinates (spatial["x"], spatial["y"]) are
used as centre coordinates of the pixels in the GRID? In this script;
spatial["x"] & spatial["y"] are the centre coordinates of the satellite
image pixels. I'm asking this because some

plot 3d info in 2d
Hi Listers,
Is it possible to produce an ordination plot in 2d, where bubbles represent
the location of sites (this part is easy enough) and the size of the bubbles
is proportional to the sites location in 3d space (I am stuck on this
option). So sites that are very near the 2d plane of the xy axes would be
larger while sites that are actually further away in 3 d space would be
proportionally

moving from Windows to Linux - need help
hi
I've used R for many years on windows machines, but
have now acquired an Asus eee 1000 linux machine.
In order to get the best out of the machine, I used the
'pimpmyeee.sh' script, to get the full KDE desktop.
The version of Linux is Xandros, which I believe is
a close relative of Debian, but sadly I have only a
nodding acquaintance with Linux at present.
Naturally I want to

using grib files in R
I am not new to R, but I am new to .grib files. I am downloading some
climate data and I would like to analyze it in R. R has a nice netcdf
package, but I don?t see any package available to deal specifically
with grib files. I see a few posts from other people using grib files
in R. However, I was unclear if they used grib files in a different
software program and then imported the data

ddply from plyr package - any alternatives?
Hello everyone,
I was asked to repost this again, sorry for any inconvenience.
I'm looking replacement for ddply function from plyr package.
Function allows to apply function by category stored in any column/columns.
Regular loops or lapplys slow down greatly because my unique combination
count exceeds 9000. Is there any available solution which allow me to apply
function by category?

graphing netCDF files
Hello
I'm working with a large hydrological data set stored in a netCDF format.
The file stores x and y coordinates in the UTM projected coordinate system,
yet when I use image to graphically display the z variable, the image is
distorted in the sense that it does not plot the map in the correct spatial
organization.
I'm wondering if I need to define the projection of the netCDF file

Principle component analysis function

In a package, I want to use PCA function. The structure I used follow this

fit<-principle(mydata, nfactors=9, rotation=TRUE)
or:
result<-PCA(mydata)
But I don't known why R language in my computer noticed: "not found
principle", "not found PCA".
I download and installed
