centos.org 5 Installation_Guide-en-US/ch02s04.html#s2-steps-make-cd
There seems to be several problems in this kickstart cd document. I guess this was copied from RedHat''s documentation. Can someone please direct me or my comments to the right person? http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/Installation_Guide-en-US/ch02s04.html#s2-steps-make-cd this command (in the documentation) needs a space in it: cp -r <path-to-cd>/isolinux/<path-to-workspace> The chmod command is skipping the isolinux directory and all subdirectories and files. Also, I did need the read permission too. So, this com...

Install CentOS 7 on MBR hard disk
I have a UEFI system, but I want to install CentOS on a MBR (not GPT) hard disk. The installation program keeps telling me that I must create an "EFI system partition on a GPT disk mounted at /boot/efi". I can't find a way to work around this. Is there a solution? -- Yves Bellefeuille <yan at storm.ca>

If you mean other Yum repositories, you need to add them using the ?repo? syntax, as described here: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/Installation_Guide/s1-kickstart2-options.html <https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/Installation_Guide/s1-kickstart2-options.html> -- Jonathan Billings <billings at negate.org>

Bricked my system
Updated to CentOS 7.4 No wifi. The wifi was using wl-something driver that had third party firmware but it wasn't seen. Attempted to get network with ethernet from the mobo to router but it wouldn't come up. So I rebuilt the wl-whatever kernel module and installed the updated version built against the newer kernel. Now when attempting to boot it gets stuck at "i8042 no

If you read https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/7/html/installation_guide/sect-disk-partitioning-setup-x86#sect-bootloader-mbr-gpt-x86 carefully, it seems to say that if you have UEFI and an MBR hard disk that already has partitions, you must reformat it to GPT. The documentation seems to say that Anaconda will use MBR only if the disk is the right size (fewer than 2^3...

Tips and tricks : create image file from CD/DVD?
Should the wiki have a Tips and Tricks page for creating a ISO file from a CD or DVD? I realize this information is everywhere. Including http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/Installation_Guide-en-US/s1-steps-network-installs-ppc.html I don't, however, find it on the wiki... Is it within the scope of the wiki project to have it somewhere?

How to PXE Boot
Folks, Are there updated instructions on how to set up PXE boot under CentOS 5.x? I found that the system-config-netboot RPM has been absent, and the instructions written reference it, with a bug report not yet closed on Red Hat. kickstart install on SAN with multipath
...with a few hours work I could update to 5.2.. I can install to SAN with a single path no problem but I'd like to be able to use dm-multipath.
