We can sometimes get into this pickle ourselves integrating into existing
environments. Maybe next time I have insomnia I'll throw together something
along these lines (unless someone beats me to the punch).

TDM400P & X101P cards, echo issues?
...king at the same time, results are indeterminate).
I know echo is caused by a wide range of issues, a wide range of problems,
and everyone's experience has been different. I'd like to get the most
feedback possible, and it would probably be better to address replies
directly to me (seamus@insomnia.org) to avoid cluttering the list unless
your answer will directly benefit us all :)
Thanks!

creative VoIP blaster & *
Ok,
I've googled for 15+ minutes, and have yet to find a usable answer, so I'm
going to annoy everyone and ask here.
I have, in my posession, a creative VoIP blaster. I have installed the
fobbit LKM and I can see the device. Can I use it with asterisk in any
meaningful way, shape, or form? I'd love to be able to buy an IP phone,
ATA, or FXO card, but lack the funds at the moment

x100p/hangup detection issues?
Hi..
I've got an asterisk setup with an X100P card installed.. I'm noticing that upon hangup, it takes a good 3 to 5 seconds before asterisk realizes the line has been hung up and drops the call.. this causes my SIP phone to continue ringing, and occassional phantom voice mail messages to be left.. I'm located in good old standard North America, with a regular Verizon residential

FreeBSD in general
Hi there guys... I've been watching the list for a while, had a quick
question.
I work for a company (Turtle Beach) that makes a product that takes MP3
files that reside on your PC or Network Attached Storage, and lets you play
them anywhere else in your home. (From your stereo for example.)
Anyway, we've added basic MP3 streaming support (and have now gone to
external beta) that

Sipura SPA2000 & Asterisk & latest firmware (1.0.18)
All,
If you currently own a Sipura SPA2000, avoid going to the sipura website
and upgrading the firmware. I upgraded my SPA2k a couple of days ago from
1.0.9 (what it came with) to 1.0.18 off the site, and I am having issues
with my SPA rebooting itself every 3-10 minutes for no apparent reason. I
have been in touch with the *excellent* sipura support folks, and they are
working with me to

Scheduler Mechnisms!
Hello,
Normally, in addition to such qdisc scheduler mechanisms as FIFO, PQ, WRR, WFQ,
are there any more? Then, there is a confusion on scheduler in Linux enviroment:
Assume there is a qdisc, such as RED as a leaf qdisc in a router, we know, if
there is packet which want to enqueue the packet, the Function red_enqueue is
called, but when the packet leave the queue(when the Function red_dequeue

Note--If during this e-mail I sound like my IQ is just above zero,
don't blame me, mainly because just above zero is a lot more sleep than
I've gotten tonight, and it's 5:20..... ugh, I need to be ready by
6:30. Insomnia is not fun :(

GrandStream BudgeTone 101 Question
I know there are several folks hanging around the list that resell VoIP
products, I'd be interested in getting your info off-list as I'm trying to
persuade someone to get me a budgetone 101 for Christmas ;) I've checked
the yahoo site, and they seem to only carry it in white.. Ideally, I'd
like blue, so if you have it, please let me know.
Also, I've been watching the list for

BOOM! Crash when trying to use SIPDtmfMode on an outgoing call!
All,
Here's a cool one.. I was attempting to call a retarded conferencing
service, and was having problems with it picking up my DTMF.. after trying
all the settings my Sipura SPA2000 offers, I found inband actually works..
unfortunately, I can't get anything else to pick up my inband DTMF
(including asterisk's builtin voicemail! It just times out and says I never
entered a login!).

ALL incoming Zap channel calls are getting picked up as FAX calls!
All,
I upgraded my asterisk setup from CVS on or about 12/15. Suddenly, *all*
of my incoming calls are coming up as FAXes. I had to disable my fax
extension because every call to my POTS line was getting redirected to my
FAX machine. After removing the FAX extension, if I call my POTS line from
my cell phone, I get the following:
*CLI> -- Starting simple switch on 'Zap/1-1'

asterisk behind NAT
I know this issue has been covered with at least 2 different patches, and
probably a dozen different discussions, however I'm a bit unclear as to what
my options are.
I have a DSL line coming in with 8 IP addresses going to an OpenBSD firewall
doing 1:1 NAT for machines behind the firewall. My asterisk box is one of
these machines, and I'd like to allow foreign SIP clients
