What's left for 1.0?
All, FLAC is nearing an official version. I am going to release a 0.9 version first with the winamp2 plugin fixes (and some other small inprovements). but I want to ask the question now: As a user, what do you think is left to do before 1.0? FLAC is bound to have incremental improvements but are there any fundamental format or feature changes/additions that you think that should be made? I am especially interested in deficiencies that will h...

Strange performance issues with samba and win commander
Hi, In our company I've setup a Samba server in addition to the NT file server and got complaints about performance problems when copying files from local drives to the samba box with win commander. The samba box: Athlon 1400 MHz, 256MB RAM, 80GB IDE Hard disk. SuSE Linux 7.2 with Kernel 2.4.4 and Samba 2.2. Filesystem is ReiserFS. The Windows Box(es) different Hardware running W2000 with

libVorbis 1.2.2 release candidate announcement
...time but haven't warranted their own release mainly due to being picked up asynchronously by distributions. Aside from the arcane bugfix list in the SVN logs, this release includes a few new bugfixes that languished due to lack of any screaming, as well as some nice seeking-related performance inprovements to libvorbisfile. This release has been a long time in the making, and for that reason we do not expect any additional changes or fixes prior to the release candidate being granted full release status in a week or two. Nevertheless, the possibility of a last minute screwup always exists, please t...

Aside from the arcane bugfix list in the SVN logs, this release includes a few new bugfixes that languished due to lack of any screaming, as well as some nice seeking-related performance inprovements to libvorbisfile. Work has already begun on the next two libvorbis releases. The approximate roadmap is: the async error interface just added to libogg will be the next change to libvorbis, and will be the basis of the 1.2.3 release. AoTuV merges are scheduled for immediately after and will form...

Call Parking and multiple contexts
Is there any way to define call parking parameters for different contexts? For example, if I have a client in context 100 and another client in context 200, can they both define parking positions, say, from 701-710, where 701 in context 100 is different from 701 in context 200? Or even better, can context 100 define parking positions 701-710 and context 200 define parking positions

Mongrel Web Server 0.3.12 -- Pre-Release
Hello Everyone, Mongrel is due for a 0.3.12 release which will feature some pretty insane goodies for everyone. There''s talk of IOWA support, lots of speed improvements (including sendfile support), a great Configurator which makes configuring Mongrel a snap (especially for framework implementers), and a ton of debugging stuff. WARNING This is a pre-release announcement for the

All-round reclocking improvements
...G96 reclocking. Has been tested on literally two cards, which is hardly adequate as "full coverage". On the other hand, the changes were small enough to make me confident this might work for others as well. - Fix NV50 wait for VBLANK when no monitor is plugged in. - Voltage related inprovements for GT21x. - Slightly improve Keplers handling of DDR3 cards where the DLL should be disabled. Lays the foundation for a similar improvement in GDDR5 cards, but lacking such a card I can't test any changes here. If you don't feel confident about patch 9 feel free to drop it. But better...
