peer detach fails
...niband like the other two hosts (infiniband and ethernet for clients). So I removed the new arbiter bricks from all of the volumes. However, I can't detach the peer as it keeps saying there are bricks it hosts. Nothing in volume status or info shows that host to be involved. gluster peer detach innuendo forcepeer detach: failed: Brick(s) with the peer innuendo exist in cluster The Self-heal daemon is still running on innuendo for each brick. Should I re-add the arbiter brick and wait for the arbiter heal process to complete? How do I take the arbiter brick out and not break things? It was added...

the problem is intractable, and perhaps insoluble
i'm not sure why i work so hard to be accurate and fair when i'm discussing jim, when he in turn seems happy to engage in innuendo and outright _lies_ to slime me. some of the things he says are flat out 360-degree lies, so he obviously cares not even a whit for his credibility. which is why i feel no need any more to counter his crap. because once you've cleared away his smoke-screen and wiped off all of the mud he thr...

big file server
Hi I plan to set up a big file server, something like motherboard with 4 ide ports and an additional 4 ide daughter card, a PIV proc and 512 or 1024 MB ram, a 100 or 1000 MB NIC, with 6 or 7 200 GB ide HDDs in a sigle box. I don't need lightning performance, just disk space. Of course this would be served by some linux os and samba questions (relative to samba configuration and behaviour) :

Everyone wants a RoR framework
It seems like everyone now has a RoR type framework: Perl: http://dev.catalyst.perl.org/ PHP: http://cakephp.org/ Python: http://www.django.com ASP.NET: http://www.castleproject.org/index.php/Main_Page etc., etc. Has a revolution begun with the birth of these "Web 2.0" frameworks? Its going to be interesting when the tech media begins its mass hype like it did SOAP, XML, etc. a

http parser
Just thought I''d let you know that your http parser worked great for creating an http protocol handler for Eventmachine. It wouldn''t take that much effort to use Eventmachine for Mongrel, might be worth a shot just to see how it does. A few things would need to be restructered, like HttpRequest where you read the rest of the body, and calling the handler. But it

SAN (Shared LUN) with CLVM
Hi@all System: 2 Server nodes connected to a SAN storage (shared LUNs). Shared storage holds a Volume group (lvm2) with all my hvm guests. Live migration works nice. But snapshots from logical volumes only usable, when i first deactivate logical volume on the second node - otherwise errors in metadata came up and snapshot is broken/inconsistent. both xen 3.3 are installed on ubuntu 8.04. can
