Password server is not connected - "cli not initilised" issue
Hi all, We are currently upgrading some core infrastructure and authentication hosts (Mac OS X 10.4.11 Open Directory/OpenLDAP/KDC --> 10.5.5). We've run into an interesting snag however. The Sun host that we use for sharing out files over Samba 3.0.28a (Sun's currently shipped, supported version of Samba) worked perfectly with the directory master running Mac OS X 10.4.11.

Hi, I am using PXELinux to boot my workstations in MS-DOS :-) mode (using memdisk) and then I start winnt.exe to install Windows 2000. I was wondering if it is possible to hide some of the extensive information being printed during the initilisation process. I tried to use the graphical splash screen but it only shows up for a very short time. What about implementing some sort of delay in the display format. Another great feature would be to support supplying the Default kernel options through the extended PXE tags. I wrote my own PXE server...

Using session data in model
Hi, I want to use my some session data when I validate som data in the model. The specific problem I have is that I present different forms data based on gender, and then dependent of the gender, there''s different fields that needs validation. I''m wondering what''s the preffered way of doing this. The session data is not present in the model, i.e: class Myclass

FileColumn - Validate Before Saving
file_column is great -- but I need a way to run through the validations (ie: validates_file_format_of) before saving. That is, when a user first uploads an image it is displayed in the view but not ''saved'' until they click the ''Save'' button on the form. I want to display an error message/disable the ''Save'' button if the file they just

Compile help for Solaris 10 x86, samba 3.0.28a deficient?
Hi all, I've got an ongoing battle with samba shipped with Sun Solaris 10 in it's current form (Samba version 3.0.28a) not wanting to talk to my OpenLDAP master correctly. Essentially, under certain conditions, this behaviour is observed, in the log.smbd: [2008/10/11 08:54:03, 1, pid=13610] libsmb/cliconnect.c:(1451) Error connecting to 192.168.117.150 (Connection refused)

[PATCH 0 of 6 RESEND v2] blktap3/sring: shared ring between tapdisk and the front-end
This patch series introduces the shared ring used by the front-end to pass request descriptors to tapdisk, as well as responses from tapdisk to the front-end. Requests from this ring end up in tapdisk''s standard request queue. When the tapback daemon detects that the front-end tries to connect to the back-end, it spawns a tapdisk and tells it to connect to the shared ring. The shared
